I bought a camera from Radioshack that broke the next day.?

I can't find the receipt and it cost me a bundle. What do I do?

yes, sometimes you can have the store look up the info thru the old reciepts. the problem is alot of companies don't even keep reciepts because its all digital anymore.

most places especially if you go right in and have the salesperson who remembers you, will try to help. but without a reciept they really don't have to. and if its water or impact damage don't expect them to help either. because those void any kind of warranty.

the camera company will also not do anything without a reciept. i can tell you that from my own experience of working in a camera store for seven years. and they have every right to say no if you can't prove when you bought it unfortunately.

if i were you i'd dig thru your garbage and try to find the reciept. cause i think your up a creek without a paddle without it unless the manager of the radio shack is a really cool guy. but considering that every day stores get scammed with stolen merchandise and the such-they usually aren't that cool about things like not having a reciept.

sorry. next time tuck that reciept for a big ticket item away somewhere safe!

Try going back to the store with the item, and maybe they can trace the purchase from the serial number. If they don't comply with you, then write (email) to the company.

they can bring the receipt up on their computer

or try da warranty...most companies have emails now...

usually if its within a month of purchase...

they take it back with or without receipt

If you paid with a credit card they can verify the purchase by the card number.

They probably took your name and stuff at Radio Shack - they always do that here - and you can probably get things straightened out if you have some ID with you.
