Muslims Adultery?

Ok i'm a christian but muslim men are aloud to have more than 1 wife right but isnt that adultery i'm confused?

OK, it seems this is the only thing people know about Islam, let me explain that the reason for this is at the time when the Prophet was still alive and the wars were leaving many women without anyone to take care of them, there were rules on when a man is allowed to marry another wife, the first is if he is able to treat both equally, if the first wife is incapable of having children, if the first wife is ill, and if he can afford to do so, and all that can only happen if the first wife accepts it. Basically the man was not allowed to just throw the first wife away...those were in the old times, you have to imagine women didn't have jobs and cars and money etc...now men in this day in age unfortunately use this to their advantage and in most cases it is not really the right thing to do, since the most important thing Islam preaches is to be loyal to your spouse, but like all things, people take what they like and leave out the stuff that is too hard to do, because no matter what a man does if he marries another woman let alone another three he can never be fair...I could go on for ever, sorry for babbling

Muslim men are allowed to have one wife and no more than four. However there are guidelines concerning having more than one wife and most men find those guidelines so daunting, they would never consider having more than one wife. If a man chooses to marry more than one woman he must first get the consent of his first wife, once that is granted he must be able to provide equal amounts of love, financial support, emotional support, time, and respect to each woman. He cannot treat one woman better than the other(s) nor can he spend more time with one then he does the others. These rules are there to stop men from taking on more than they can handle, but also to prevent this right from being abused. If you look at the statistics of men to women, women have almost always outnumbered men, now unless a lot of women plan to become spinsters, someone has to be able to marry them. I am a happily married Muslim woman. I would not agree to my husband getting married again, but that is my own personal choice. Insha allah you will gain understanding from those who have answered your question with a pure heart and knowledge of which they speak.

Allah allowing to Muslims to get marry another woman suppose your first wife cant have no baby and therefore you dont have to divorce her.For example second one got sick later so you marry one more.Later 3 wifes got old and you are as a man still strong and need sex so you can marry one more.By this way adultery can stop and we have no AÄ°DS.

in mecca before the message of prophet Mohamed came,men were used to marry more than one wife even more than four,Islam came to limit the number to four!
having four wives is allowed nowadays as it was allowed 1400years ago not only in war times as someone indicated above.

there are many reasons that this thing is allowed:sometimes the woman can not have children,sometimes widows and divorced women need some men to take care of them...
besides ,the man is not allowed to have girlfriends in Islam but he is allowed to have four wives(Islam does not wait for the problem to happen then start putting down solutions. it gives methods to prevent the problem from happening,Islam does not wait for the woman to become pregnant from her boyfriend then say to her throw the child away!)family is the most important thing in the society so anything that harms man or woman or child is forbidden .
the man must be fair to all his wives,and if he is not capable of giving them their rights then he is not allowed to do so.
the rules of the religion is not only for one case,it is for the whole society ,so it is supposed to cure all problems.

why the woman can not marry more than one man?
(because the woman becomes pregnant not the man,so if she married four and then became pregnant to which father the child will belong,whose son is the child?)

Islam cares much about the coming child and to give him the safe and loving environment ,it is a right of the child to know who are his parents.

Prophet Muhammad Married 10 wife's just for taking care of them all. why? because most of theme were widow due to war.. that times..woman hopelessly on finding food.. Prophet Muhammad also said that we can Married more then 1 but not more then 4,in the means that we must provide them with care , happiness & being equal to them all.. To Prophet Muhammad view..Marrige is not just for sex sake.. but to support the poor widows..

Try to read more bout Muslims or try talking with a Muslim on religious topics like dis. it's good to know bout other ppl's religion, lol (n yes, we can hav up to 4 wives, but nid to be fair to them n might also be to help widows/single mothers...but the women cant have more husbands)

They are allowed to have up to four wifes and not have it adultery. Any more and it is considered a concubine.

Adultery is having sex with someone to whom you are not married. He is married legally and religiously to three women. He can have sex with all of them (not altogether, as in an orgy). It's not adultery.

May as well have 10 , they stuff them in a closet all day and pull down the shades so they can't see out....who's counting ?

as long as he treat them equaly and fair. it doesn't have to do with sexual stuff, it's more abotu relation ships. for example if his friend die and no one is there to take care the widow wife, then he can marry her and take care of her.
