Death is not nothingness. After you die, you go either to Heaven or hell depending on your salvation.

The Lord made us in His image and knows that we are something and that "nothingness" is not what we need. Therefore, He saves us from death if we accept Him.

Fear of death is a common human trait. Many religions have attracted followers by promising some sort of eternal life. The ancient Egyptians, for example, believed in an afterlife. In the Hellenistic world, there were several "mystery religions" that promised immortality to initiates. Hope for an afterlife probably attracted early Christians, and continues to attract new followers to this day.

Because it was not God's purpose that we die!

Mankind was designed to live forever and Adam and Eve's sin took that away from us.

God wants to give it back.

If death was not really the whole story of the end of our lives then why didn't god tell Adam that?

He said "You positively will die" - "Not you positively will leave this existence for another - in a burning fiery place of eternal torment."

Wouldn't a loving God adequately inform his creation of what they were in store for????

To you the idea of not existing, or "nothingness" may be all right. But, I like living and don't want it to end. Thanks for asking.

The Bible calls death "sleep". The LORD isn't going to save us from it, HE will resurrect us from it.

GOD bless
