Yes, We Are Sisters And Brothers " IN CHRIST" We should be able to make the vow. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 >* God Is Describing what takes place in the Rapture!
For the Lord Himself Shall Descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Trump of God: And THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST: THEN WE which are Alive and remain shall be caught up together with them In the Clouds, To meet the Lord in the Air: and so shall We Ever BE WITH THE LORD. Wherefore, comfort One Another With These Words. " More beautiful words have never been spoken" THIS IS THE RAPTURE> + + +

I happen to know that you are catholic. So you do not believe in the Rapture? What do you think it speaks of in I Thess. 4:16-17, where it says, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord."?
I know that the word 'rapture' is not in the Bible, but the term 'rapture' is derived from the Latin word 'raptus', which means caught away, or caught up. This Latin word is equivalent to the greek word 'harpazo', which is translated as 'caught up' in I Thess. 4:17, which is quoted above. The event described here and in I Corin. 15 refers to the 'catching up' of the church from the earth to meet the Lord in the air, and involves only the faithful of Christ's churches. Just prior to this, as Christ is descending from heaven for His church, the resurrection of the 'dead in Christ' will occur ( I Thess. 4:16 ). This is not the same resurrection as described in Revelation 20:4, for that is an event occuring after Christ returns to earth, destroys the wicked, and binds Satan ( Rev.19:11-20:3 )
As the dead in Christ are raised, living believers will be transfigured; their bodies will put on immortality ( I Corin. 15:51, 53 ). Their transformation will happen "in the twinkling of an eye" ( I Corin.15:22 ).
Both the resurrected believers and the transfigured believers will be "caught up together" ( I Thess. 4:17 ) to meet Christ in the air, that is, in the atmosphere between earth and heaven.
If the catholics do not believe in the rapture of the church, then what do they do with these scriptures? What do they think that they mean?
Please E-mail me if you wish. I am really interested.

I call everyone on earth brother or sister, because we are all children of our Heavenly Father, regardless of race or creed. I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters (from my mortal parents), and none of them share my religious views... but I still love them as my brothers and sisters.

Its not your decision or mine to decide who goes to heaven and who does not.
There are Christians who believe in the Rapture and there are Christians that don't. That difference should not divide us here on earth and it won't divide us in heaven.
Its sad that you don't believe you have the same religion.
What makes us Christians is that we believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again. Not our beliefs about the rapture.

when we believe in the same God and the same Jesus, then why can we not set aside our personal beliefs and call each other brother and sister now.

Quit waiting, call her sister on earth, and give up any beliefs that build barriers instead of bridges.
