Go with a tanish-brown. It's best to have a neutral color that will look good with any paint color & decorations. Our carpet is tan with specs of different shades of browns, it matches everything well.

A Berber carpet is great, durable, strong as steel, last forever and comes in neutral colors so you can change your color schemes to fit your mood. You can go darker beige, closer to browns, or dark creams. If you buy something neutral, you are not locked into your colors.

Do you prefer WARM colors - ivory, tomato, peach, orange, rust, golden yellow, lime, kelly, or olive green, turquoise or teal, bright purple, caramel or chocolate brown for furniture, upholstery, etc, or
COOL colors - white, pink, cherry red, coral, lemon, mint, jade, or hunter green, baby, royal or navy blue, lavender or eggplant, gray, black?
For warm preference - choose ivory or a warm sand color
[ one with a little yellow cast ] to medium caramel.
For cool - choose a oatmeal or taupe to a medium gray.
Don't go darker than a medium tone - it will make the room darker.
The color you pick will look slightly darker installed.
Get stain protection!
Try to have carpet installed after painting, and when you can air out the house for the 'new carpet' fumes. [ especially with small kids or pets ].

Go with lighter colors. It will complement your color of wood. If you go with a dark color of carpet your room will look dark and cold, so stay away from dark colors. Make it a neutral color. Neutral will complement the color and add warmth to the room. It will also help the room look larger and cleaner.

Hope this helps!

I would go with a neutral color.
Maybe a sandy or warm beige or depending on the colors in the room maybe a lt. sage green.
