I would say NO.
You'll have all sorts of problems, they WILL skulk through your plants, it will remind them of their natural home in the Indian jungles, they WILL unfortunately scratch up some plants, not many, but always the ones you really want to keep. They do call loudly in the mating season which unfortunately WILL annoy some neighbours although I personally like the sound, incidentally the noise a peacock makes sounds a bit like a drawn out ' More' which is the Panjabi word for a peacock, just thought you'd like to know !
They WILL try to roost on the highest point, your roof but sometimes if you have trees they will go into the branches. If it's your neighbours roosting point they select you may have problems there. Initially the neighbours and kids will think its fun, even feed the birds bread but then they often get fed up of them, the peafowl wont understand why suddenly they are no longer welcome.
They will range far and wide and if you've got busy roads they may cause an accident or get killed.
Their droppings are almost as bad as geese, big poopy scats all over the place.
During the breeding season the male, peacock is so busy showing off he tends not to look what's behind him. If there are foxes they'll get him and when he roosts in the trees he'll forget his long tail hanging a good mtre or more lower, the foxes will drag him down by it and have him. The peahen will wander off to find a nesting site and whilst it is great to see her bringing home the stipey chicks no one will take them off your hands when they mature. If the young turn out to be males father and sons will often fight as although you think an acre is a large plot trust me it isn't in the scale of things as far as peafowl are concerned. Please please trust me on this, I DO know what I'm talking about, it'll all end in tears.

Beware! I had a garden of 2 acres & was given 1 peacock & 3 peahens. They roamed through the neighbourhood wrecking people's gardens. Neighbours complained of the noise. They like high ground & Scots Pines & eventually defected in favour of people living 2 miles away whose garden boasted both these.Luckily the people didn't object but we were sad - I think we missed the aggravation. Best of luck.

I have 3 acres of land and now we are trying to get rid of them. I don't mind the mess so much but they DO make loud noise esp in the morning. We are not very popular with the neighbours as the peacocks ate their plants and flowers. It is IMPOSSIBLE!!!! to catch them. My vet said you can nip their wings so they cannot fly high but you have to take them to their home, like the shed every night so the fox will not eat them. You need a stately home with acres and acres of land to have them so they can roam around without annoying you or your neighbours.

Yes you can't spell.

Peahens are more aggressive than the peacock, and they don't half make a racket with their calls.

First thing I am going to tell you is to spell it correctly : peAcock.

Second, click this link and read up on what you are getting yourself into, including the amount of poop you will have to scoop!

They are as messy as geese, and the males are aggressive as well. They will not stay put in your garden and you will be stepping in doo everywhere.
