by "evolutionist churches" you mean universities, right?

I am not sure what you mean by "evolutionist churches". I believe any club or church should have the same rights as I believe than no group has a monopoly on god or truth.

I believe that the existence of something akin to God and Evolution are both scientific facts.

To my mind the difference between religion and science is whether we base our beliefs on evidence or faith.

For example I choose to assume certain religious beliefs for pragmatic reasons, and believe in other things due to my personal experiences.

On the other hand the scientific beliefs I have are ones based on reigorous testing through expert review and double blind experiments.

From my studies of cosmology and metaphysics I believe that evolution is more real than gravity. Similarly I have strong evidence that super human cosmic intelligences of godly proportions also exist within and beyond our concepts of time and space. I doubt that any religion has monopoly on truths (or is error free) about metaphysical realms.

Evolution is not a religion. Evolution is as much a fact as the observation that "cats meow".

Religions deal with faith, or things believed but unseen, or unproovable.

Evolution is as much science as the biology or physics behind the marvels of modern medicine.

I think your logic is a little tilted.

If evolution is a religion then universities would become tax-exempt churches.

But evolution is not a religion. It is a scientific theory.

The Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.

One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good.

Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution. Or not. The Church does not require belief in evolution.

On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis:

The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.

Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html

The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.

With love in Christ.

Everyone pays property tax except churches. So, I say when you step up to the plate, it will be about time churches paid to caesar what was due.

The belief of evolution is not a religion. Where did you get that idea. There are no churches in atheism. It is a belief based on reality. Atheists do not need the support of a group to reinforce their beliefs. So please, get your facts straight.

religion: static belief based on dogma, requires faith at the expense of reason

science: not static, adds new knowledge as it is acquired, does not require faith, demands reason

See the difference?
