you need a wheeled chassis (toy car or buggy). then attach the mouse trap to the top of the chassis. hot glue is ok but may give. screws are better. wire wrapped around both is ok but the mouse trap may shift.
the common method to link the two is to tie one end of the string to the mouse trap arm and wrap the loose end around the drive shaft.
If you want to get an A, you can add a pulley to the system to increase the number of turns of shaft for the movement of the mouse trap. there is plenty of torque in the mouse trap.
