My heavens, I never have been flashed, but I did unintentionally flash a few folks once. I was in the hospital some time back and decided to take a stoll to the vending area. Well, I wasn't thinking about what I was wearing and, let's just say that those hospital gowns don't leave a lot to the imagination on the backside. The nurse came up from behind me and put a blanket over my shoulders . . . I was wondering why it was a little drafty back there!

The best translation I could find was this one (see my 2nd one):

"leave yourselves the only if you do not love me"

laissez-moi = leave me
seul= only one
si= yes
vous= you
ne= not
m'aimez= love me
pas= step

I've never taken French, I did recognize the first words from relatives from New Orleans. I found a better translation that makes more sense:

"leave me alone if you do not like me"

Lol, now if only I could pronounce the French one.

"Leave me alone, if you do not love me", but said in the formal way, or addressed to a group of people.

Leave me alone if you don't love (like) me, of course!

Leave me alone if you don't like me.

PS :
"love" and "like" are the same verb in French. So "Leave me alone if you don't love me" is a correct translation too.

Quit messing with me.

Yes, literally it's "leave me alone if you don't love (or like) me".

It's either talking to more than one person, or phrased strangely formally for a sentence like that.

This is translatable in english as an old saying, Because I
cannot harm you if I cannot love you, or I cannot believe that
I love you when I am not now in love. It is a poetic phrase from
the age of shakespeare, very old and not polite. More modern
translation could be I cannot because I simply cannot, do I
make myself happy with you?
