I have to commute through miles of double-line roads and I very often run into people (this happens at least once a day) who seem to show no respect for others and drive at 25 mph in a 35 mph zone. Of course there is little recourse, I mean hitting high beams or honking the horn or riding their rear results in more confusion and they start to panic. Then the police seem to overlook these people who are out impeding traffic.

FYI, this is in the DC metro area where traffic is a nightmare and slowing down and relaxing is not easy to do, and planning my trips around people who think the world revolves around them (by driving so slow as to aggravate the rest of us) is not practical.

There is no minimum speed on other than expressways because people who can't maintain the minimum speed there have got to have some place to drive, even though you want to go a lot faster. If you feel someone is seriously impeding traffic and driving in an unsafe slow manner, get behind them, turn on your 4 way flashers and call the police with the brand and color of car, license plate and behavior. Who knows, they may take the license away (if you have the right to use your cell phone while driving.)
If you think is bad in the DC metro area, come on out to rural America where getting behind a loaded RV may mean 20 cars threading their way up hill and down dale with very few passing zones big enough to get by. Of course, rural roads have shoulders and people learn to pull over, still moving and let people go by. Of course, when the person wants to go 85 in a 65 zone and I only am willing to go 69, getting on the shoulder can be tricky.

Brush up on the regulations of the states you will bypass via - each and each state has diverse regulations. Many maps have this, and AAA promises this style of information to its contributors in a ebook. working example, in some states, you may turn good on pink, yet that's no longer genuine in all states. States have diverse regulations on snow tires/treaded tires - while they are required, while they are forbidden, and so on. In my state, it is unlawful to no longer pass to the passing lane if driving previous a parked police officer motor vehicle (giving somebody a cost ticket). have not got issues remarkable from the rearview mirror - it is unlawful in some states. verify your lighting fixtures and make confident each little thing approximately your motor vehicle is properly working and/or related. In my journey (individually and professionally), it is commonly genuine what human beings say approximately out-of-state tags: even once you're traveling with the pass of site visitors, you're extra probable to get the fee ticket.

Most roads have no minimum speed. Interstates usually have a minimum speed. The police have no right to pull over someone going too slow on a two lane road with no minimum speed posted. Pops

10 miles under the speed limit isn't that bad, especially if you're lost, or looking for a specific address, etc. It's frustrating, but oh well. I'm more concerned about the idiots on their cells, people who don't use blinkers, and people who cut in front of me in the fast lane so I have to slam on my brakes if I don't want to hit their car.

Even with no minimum speed posted you can be ticketed for going too slow. If your speed is causing a danger too fast or too slow cops can write you for it. Going to slow can be considered dangerous because people will sometimes get desperate to get around and cause crashes trying.

Slow vehicles on two lane roads are unavoidable and legal. Find alternate routes around the areas of slowness!

maybe because someone driving slow is less suspicious than someone driving fast. secondly, someone who drives slow is less likely to cause accidents and deaths on the road.

driving 25mph and hitting someone leaves more chance of survival than 35mph.

bit of common sense really.

You should talk to those in charge of the police. ]
I would think that they would probably be out pursuing more serious offenders.
