I noticed the bump almost 6 months ago and never have had the time to check it out. It is not painful to touch. It is not discolored either. It looks like a bump but when you feel it, you can tell it is a little deep underneath the skin

It is always smart to have things checked by a doctor but there are simple things it could be. It could be an ingrown hair. Is it painfull? Is there any discoloraton of your skin? You need some more details to find out what it is.

Sebaceous Cyst
Very common and not lethal or life threatening.
It's a blocked pore like a pimple.
See your doctor and he'll referrer you to a surgeon.
The surgeon can remove it as an out patient (right in his office).
If left untreated, it could remain forever.
But there is a chance it will become infected and can grow to the size of a ping-pong ball.
Then it will be quite painful and can take up to a week after surgery to recover

Edit
Do a wb search for "webmd"
You'll learn all about them.
Probably what I wrote.

May I suggest going to a doctor to find out what it is? Is the bump painful to touch? Or does it feel callused? The reason I recommend seeing a doctor is because it may be a cancerous tumor, if that's the case, better to remove it early before it spreads. Good luck!
