There's a lady at work who is Jewish and keeps using my savior's name in vain and in a cussing sort of way. However, since she's Jewish then she doesn't believe that Jesus was the massiah therefore, for her it's no different then taking any one elses name in vain. Is it a sin? Why does she take my savior's name in vain when she doesn't even believe in him? Instead of saying JESUS CHRIST! why can't she say JOHN DOE!!!!! If you don't believe that Jesus was the savior then why speak his name at all?

Ask her what her husbands name is and when you get angry use his name. She will soon come and ask you to stop doing it and that's when you can politely tell her that her using Jesus Christ is offending you.

Satan knows how to Blaspheme and people prove who the Messiah is by their swear words.

My father did the above suggestion to a workmate and within a month the workmate had taken Jesus out of his language at work at least.

Show her how it makes you feel. Don't just tell her.. Next time you are in a position that many people would use a swear word or take the Lord's name in vain use her name..... Jim

Every time she says it pray for her to know him,and that Jesus would reveal himself to her.You will come off so self righteous asking her to stop.Be a light to her, love her,and be kind.Every time she calls out to him that way pray, pray, pray.People do not understand how it offends us,but Jesus also said do not be so easily offended.I do not think she even realizes.I really dont think Jesus is offended he just wants a relationship with her,and he may use you to help her.

I say if she is using Jesus name in vain than she is contradicting herself, the I say she believes who Jesus is. Have you confronted her about this and saying why?

Yes, it is a sin. She obviously knows of Him. Why else would she keep saying it? She thinks He will not be offended since she is Jewish.

It would definitely be a sin if she did it knowing that it offended and upset you, yet choose to continue doing it anyway - for then, in that context, it would be a sin against charity and justice.

Many people do this in the presence of Christians, knowing it is offensive to them.

Unfortunately, the Jewish people's eyes were blinded, by God, and they cannot see Jesus as their Messiah. Their eyes will be opened soon and they will then know and appreciate Jesus. Pops

she might claim not to believe but the name wouldn't have much relevance or meaning to her(saying it) if she didn't believe. yes, it's a sin. may god forgive her for calling his name in vain.

It's her King. Let her say what she wants now how she wants to say it. In the end Jesus will come to her and he will love her.
