You need to look at a few of these in the context of the verses around them. Read this passage.
"Just as Abraham 'believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.' So, you see, those who believe are the descendants of Abraham. And the scripture, forseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, declared the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, 'All the Gentiles shall be blessed in you.' For this reason, those who believe are blessed with Abraham who believed." Galatians 3:6-9
Look at the entire passage. You also have to know the history behind it. There were people that were troubling the Galatians. Those people taught them that they must be circumcised in order to be Abraham's descendants. So, Paul uses Abraham in his argument to prove his point. Genesis 15:6 states, "And he believed the Lord, and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness." It is showing that Abraham was righteous in God's eyes because he trusted, believed, and obeyed God. God justified Abraham based on faith. Paul concludes that anyone that is a person of the faith is a descendant of Abraham. It is an important thing to the Jewish people to be a descendant of Abraham. God always intended to justify the Gentiles through faith the same way. He said this beforehand in Genesis 12:3. It states, "I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." This is showing us that God's blessing came into the world first through this covenant with Abraham. Now, look at the next little passage that contains Galatians 3:14.
"For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the things written in the book of the law.' Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law; for 'The one who is righteous will live by faith.' But the law does not rest on faith; on the contrary, 'Whoever does the works of the law will live by them'. Christ redeemd us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us--for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'--in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. " Galatians 3:10-14
Picking up onthe theme of the blessing from the verse before, Paul draws the contrast between blessing and curse. Using a series of scriptural quotes, he shows us that those who lives are based on doing the works of the law are under the threat of a curse, whereas those who live on the basis of faith inherit the blessing of Abraham, the spirit. Christ freed us from the Law's curse so that we might enjoy the blessing of Abraham, the Spirit. Since the Galatians already enjoy the gift of the spirit (found in 3:1-5), there is no need for them to do the works of the law. That is the point that Paul is trying to prove here. You need to look at the WHOLE passage.
Look at one last section.
"For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of you were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jews nor Greek, there is no longer slave nor free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:26-29
Paul concludes this part of his argument. Those who have been baptized into Christ are Abraham's descendants, apart from circumcision or any other works of the Law, because Christ is Abraham's signular offspring. In Christ, distinctions of race, class, and gender are irrelevant. We are all one in Christ, and we are all heirs of Abraham according to the promise in Genesis 12:3.

When you become a believer you are grafted into Israel, into the cultivated Olive Tree.
We recieve a circumcision of the heart, circumcision being a part of the Abrahamic convenent and therefore heir of the promise through faith.
It is important to remember that Abrahams faith was backed up by how he walked. What is so important about Abrahams faith? When God told him to do something he did it. He didn't try to excuse himself or justify himself he just did it. Up to and including the sacrifice of his son Isaac which was the son of promise and a type of Messiah. Why would he do that? Because he had the faith that even though he should slay his son he had the faith that God would raise him from the dead because he considered God faithful to fulfill the promise that through Isaac he would become a great nation. Faith that does not really believe or carry out the instructions of God is no real faith at all.
You can dismiss what I just said but before you do I suggest you pray and ask God to empty your mind of all the doctrine you've had force fed to you all your life then go read Romans.

Dear edward,
Before I answer, let me say that a Bible Concordance is of great help in studying God's word.
Galatians 3:7-If we go to Revelation 19:11, we see that one of Christ's names is "Faithful and True." Notice also in Romans 10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." The word FAITH is a synonym for Jesus Christ because he is the only One who is faithful-He is the essence of faith. Replacing "faith" with Christ we have So then Christ cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. A person can oly be saved if they have been elected by God (Ephesians 1:3-5) and are under the hearing of the word of God-the Bible.
So in Galatians 3:7 the "saved" or redeemed (born-again) are the children of Abraham.
In Galatians 3:9 the Lord is telling us that those who have been born-again (saved)are in the highest good as Abraham is (to be forever with the Lord).
In Galatians 3:14, we must understand that those who have been born-again have the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 1:12-14 we read, "That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."
Ephesians 1:12-14 tells us that when we are saved, we are indwelt by God Himself-the Holy Spirit. If one does not have the Holy Spirit, that person is not one of God's children ("But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.").
In Galatians 3:29 the Bible tells us again that if we are born-again (saved) we belong to Christ (His children or bride). We also are heirs of the land (heaven) promised to Abraham.
There is much more that the Bible says, but I hope this will give you the info to help you.

Abraham was promised by God to inherit Cannan land and to be the Father of a great nation (later known as Israel, God's chosen people). These verses provide believers in Christ with the same inheritance by making them part of Abraham's family. This is accomplished because they have faith in the same God that Abraham did.

He was telling them they were no longer under the Mosaic Law as Jesus had fulfilled it by his death. Their means of salvation would be by faith, not works under the Mosaic Law. They should stop going back to the elementary things but progress.
Abraham put faith in God and was counted righteous as they would be. Heirs with Abraham with the promise of life in paradise.

There was a time when God favored the nation of Israel.
He had big plans for them.
However, they proved to be a stiff-necked and rebellious group and God cast them aside.
He chose a new group to do wondrous things with.
They are called Christians.
However, God kept the same terminology as when with Israel.
When 'Christian' is mentioned here, do not think of Catholicism or Protestantism.
They have proven to be the worst representattives of Christianity one could ever find.
Nevertheless, God is accomplishing His work with a small group of sincere people.
Matthew 7:13,14.

It's obviously saying that if you believe in Jesus, you become an honorary descendant of Abraham, with all the privileges thereunto appurtenant.
Except that, because of the whole Jesus thing, you no longer have to worry about God popping in one day and asking you to sacrifice your firstborn, etc.

That when we are born of God through faith in Jesus life, atonement & resurrection, then we also are blessed with Abrahamic blessings as children of Abraham. So, also Israel is a big brother/sister to us born of God through faith in Jesus.
Thanks for puting those verses together.
Abraham believed God and obeyed God. So, we also trust & obey God, as children of God.

It's talking about believers. Honestly, it's not saying much and can be misinterpreted many different ways. It's like english translated into chinese back into english, or should I say, Hebrew translated into English?
Have faith in God, it's as simple as that.
