That's funny the "customers from hell" thing but it's so very very true.
Not retail but Social Security Administration. I had a guy come in once who had been drinking. He tried to violently jump through the service window.
He didn't know I guess that there's a law about attacking federal employees. I was able to calm him down.
All he wanted was a new Social Security Card.

Oh god yes worked at a home improvement store once had a guy come up to the counter with 3 pieces of 1/4 inch quarter round about 5 feet in length, stating one of them was a quarter inch short and he should not have to pay for the 1/4 inch. Calmly I walked around the counter and measured them ( we sold by the foot) and stated yes sir you are correct that one is 1/4 inch short, but the other two are a half inch longer, would you like me to calculate the difference on all of these? He decided the 5 ft price was ok. A good customer and you will have them can make your whole day, and you only need one to make the bad ones disappear from your day, because of this experience I try to be as polite, understanding, and accommodating to those I deal with in a store, I try to be the best retail customer they have had all day, to hopefully make their day a little better. It is a hard and stressful job putting up with customers, for the pay they get lets all try to be a little more respectful towards those that serve us

I have worked retail for a long time and I have many stories , I even manged a store for awhile. I would have to say my nicest customer was a lady that brought me a plant when she found out that my grandmother had passed away. I could write a book about the worst. I've had people scream in my face, basically call me a liar, call my supervisor on me while still in the store. But the worst
was a old man that pulled out a picture from his wallet it was a girl in her prom dress he told me that she was his girlfriend. He said that she satisfied him in every way except that she had A cup breast...CREEPY

Supermarket in a holiday area, customers on holiday, who I had served, the previous year, came through my till again and then told customer services, how nice I had been with them, both years. First week on my own on a checkout, a couple complained, to customer services, that I was scanning too fast and not giving them time to pack. Fortunately, the till recorded the speed at which things were scanned. Fortunately, most of the time there were more good ones than bad ones.

I worked for Foleys before it was bought out by macys...I loved it but its hard work some days. You stand up alot and walk alot and trust me 8 hours on your feet is tough. I have only ONE story that sticks out - this girl about 18 threw a fit because I refused to bring her clothes from the floor to the dressing room...like pick out clothes for her. I told her I was an employee not a maid and that her mom could do that - she cussed me out .... threw all the clothes on the floor and called my manager ... who sided with me, and threw her out haha. its a good job Just remember to keep your cool and calm and everything will work out
