What if.......... just what if there IS life after death.

A heaven and a Hell are indeed real?

Why not believe? Why would ANYONE take that chance?

Kaliko, when I was reading your question, this thought came to me- people who do not CHOOSE to believe in life after death- or heaven and hell- it could possibly be if they choose not to believe, then they do not have to look at the fact that they are sinners in need of salvation. When we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We who are saved have realized we deserve eternal separation from God. With Christ we are reconciled to God, however that takes first admitting we need saving. I do not understand why anybody would want to take the chance of eternal hell , but some do. You are right it is a choice- pray people come to realize the choice is a matter of life or death.

I believe in the afterlife. The human spirit is hard for some people to believe in but I experience things that are very spiritual.

I know that everyone has a spirit guide. More often everyone has more than one guide.

I think of the afterlife like heaven or hell. It might possibly be what we want it to be. Or perhaps it's just a spirit realm.

These thoughts are very unbecoming for an atheist to consider. Just kidding (you can't dish it unless you can take it).

A state of nothingness wouldn't be a problem so long as the individual self was also extinguished. But if the self remains after death (the real question I think) then a state of nothingness would be worse than any hell imaginable.

I think there's a Heaven because I heard of stories about near death experiences when someone almost died and saw a tunnel, floating thru it til they saw a bright light then suddenly got back to life. I never heard of any experiences of Hell during a near death experience and I think everyone will deserve a pleasant place, no matter how evil you were. Now people said to me that if you kept saying, "oh my god," then that's a bad thing and you'll go to Hell. If that's the case, then everyone will go to Hell because how many people do you know that do not say "oh my god" even once in their life time?

I believe in reincarnation, and also liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth, in something you might call heaven. I do not know the particulars of it, but I know it is pure bliss in communion with God.

I do not "choose" my beliefs in the same way as I choose what I will eat for lunch. I can choose to eat chocolate doughnuts for lunch, and that will be an unsafe choice. It is not healthy. It would be better to choose broccoli of course.

But when it comes to belief, I don't have the same sort of option, because my beliefs are formed based on the information I have before me. If I see evidence that my Mom is really my mother, then I automatically believe that. I didn't one day sit down and decide to choose to believe that she is really my birth mother. I just do. I just believe it. If you ask me why, I can give you all kinds of reasons that make sense. But I still didn't choose it.

People cannot choose to believe in Christianity if they don't see the reason to believe in it. They may decide that it's the "safest" thing to do to believe in it, and still will not be able to make themselves believe in it, if they don't have sufficient reasons to believe that it is really true.

Ah, the same could be said about a lot of religions...

Why take the chance, lets all eat Kosher, and why not Halal too, just to be on the safe side - and go to the mosque and why not the temple too?

Why discriminate? After all, if you don't want to take a chance, you should cover all your bases, not just one?

As Kaliko commands, I'm going right out and converting to every religion known to humankind-just to be on the safe side. I'll be a very busy woman.

Why would anyone take the chance of living a life devoted to Jesus in hopes of getting to live forever, only to find out that Jesus is make-believe, and that the only life they were ever going to get, they WASTED on a fantasy?
