Especially after some of the comments on this site, I mean it is everything you can do not to yell (if that were possible). But to just not say anything? He knew that he would not listen. What do you think?

I think you are right. Sometimes I just want to yell at people, but sometimes the louder we yell, the less people hear.
I just try to tell it like it is. I don't care if anyone likes it or not.
I'm not here for a popularity contest, and neither was Jesus.

God Bless You

Thank you, sister.
Why do we argue about such a life changing truth like Jesus?
Hopefully the rapture will come this afternoon and all of the rude commenters will get their answers.
We as belivers have every right to ask and answer questions without the rude responses.
Jesus doesn't need to say anything.........He has said all there is to say. He had followers document His works and His commands, and they questioned Him all the time!
Silence is golden. There is power in His name.

Even if Herod wouldn't have listened, His word would have been recorded and He could have used that opportunity to say something that would have been heard by billions of people in the future. Sounds like a horrible waste of a brilliant opportunity if you ask me.

YES- it takes more strength to not defend yourself - Jesus came for the sole purpose of dying on the cross- and He knew that saying anything in his defense was futile. He did not come to earth to convince those who would kill him not too- His dying on the cross, and rising again spoke much louder than words ever could.

it's also a testimony to the fact that, while herod could order Him executed, He was actually THE authority, and had no need to answer to herod

I think Jesus was silent, knowing his destiny that was before him. He was wise enough to have escaped his fate,by speaking if he had chosen to. At least that's my take on it.

Good question

I think jesus was just in alot of pain after getting tortured.

I personally sometimes dont blame the people that tortured jesus.

Think about it. How would you feel if a man came up to you and the world and claimed he was god and a king of the heavans. Wouldnt you open up a can of whoop *** on him?

He spoke even when his mouth wasn't uttering words.
