I don't think Mormons are uneducated. Catholics are often well educated as a group, except in religion, which I find odd.

Who says Mormons are uneducated? And what you got against Catholics? Is there a reason they pulled your "grampah" from school? And yes the wine becomes blood. And yeah, Jesus does visit other sheep, he's a shepherd. He tends to all sheep, not just one. And who is this "jesyss" you're talking about? You aren't making a lot of sense.

People think Latter Day Saints (Mormons) are uneducated because they are uneducated on the subject. When most uninformed people think of Mormons they think of the FLDS church and fringe nuts that make the everyday folks look like idiots.
But let's be fair, this is done with most groups, religious and otherwise affiliated. It's called generalizing. People need to stop being offended so easily and simply explain their position.
Relax, it doesn't matter what others think of you. Take care of your relationship with your family and your Savior and the rest will sort itself out through mutual respect.

I'm don't think that you are using the right word here. I wouldn't say they were uneducated nor would I say Catholics are uneducated. Catholics have some very good schools and so do mormons. I think the question you want answered isn't the question you asked.

It's so sad, and so infuriating, that Catholics are accused of "worshipping bread." Yes, the Blessed Sacrament looks like bread and tastes like bread. If one were to walk into a traditional Catholic Mass , one might think Catholics are crazy as they kneel down when the priest holds up what looks like a "piece of bread" for them to adore.
--- but the Creator of the Universe said that it is not bread but His very Flesh, which is meat indeed. What God Almighty, Who made the earth and the moon and stars says, is. Once God, through the priest, has changed the bread and wine into the Body and Blood, they should never, ever be referred to as "bread and wine"; they are the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ Jesus. In other words, we don't worship bread; we worship Christ!
It takes the eyes of faith to "see" that the apparent mere bread and wine are truly the Body and Blood of Christ; it takes an intellectual assent to divine revelation, not emotional "feelings" . Sometimes one might struggle to "feel" that what appears to be "bread" and "wine" are what He said they are, especially at many modern Masses during which the Body and Blood are so often treated with irreverence. The proper response to doubt, though, is, "Lord, I believe! Help Thou mine unbelief!" (Mark 9:24), not mockery.
Bottom line: one either reads Scripture, listens to the Church, and intellectually assents to what they've taught for two millennia, in spite of one's "feelings," in spite of the accidents (the appearances) of "bread" and "wine," or one doesn't. To those who not only don't, but feel compelled to mock, well, mock on. They scorned Jesus, too. Just know that you are in bad company; many walked away in the 1st century, too, when hearing these "hard sayings":
John 6:58, 60, 66
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever... Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?... From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Please note that I do not hate you, or any other mormon.
I do not hate catholics, a lot of my family members are catholic.
That does not change the fact that catholics and mormons both follow false doctrine.
As for mormons, you follow the teachings of a false teacher, and false prophet. Joseph Smith was a fraud.
Catholics believe in purgatory, which is not Biblical. Not even close. They pray through saints, and Jesus' mother Mary to intercede for them, which is wrong. Only Jesus can intercede for us. The saints are dead. Mary is dead. It tells us in Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, "For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything, nor have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in any thing that is done under the sun."
Likewise, the Word of God tells us that those that die are not resurrected until the second coming of Christ. This includes the saints, and even Mary, so the prayers to her are in vain. We are to pray to God in the name of Jesus. It is only that way that our prayers are heard.
As for Jesus ' visiting other sheep ', this doctrine is not found in the Bible, and is therefore false. Everything needed for salvation through Jesus Christ is found in the Bible, and no other book is needed. The book of Revelation tells us in the last chapter, verse 18-19 that we are not to add to,or take away from the things that are written in this book.
Any person that would follow the teachings of Joseph Smith, upon study of his writings would surely know that he was a fraud as soon as they read that according to his teachings, there is no salvation without believing Joseph Smith to be a prophet of God. How gullible does one have to be to not see that?
One of the teachings of Christ was that a man was not to commit adultery. Joseph Smith was married to over 50 women. How was that in keeping with the teachings of Jesus? How could he have called his teachings Christian at all? If he followed Christ, he followed a false Christ, and led his followers to follow a false Christ also. Sorry. Any study with a desire for truth could reveal that. You have been duped. Led astray with false doctrine. You are following a false prophet to a false Christ.

I'm a Catholic. I've met many intelligent Mormons, including a very gifted Mormon scientist. Most LDS people have been rather nice to me, and some have impressed me with their academic achievements.

I think a better question would be why Christians of any flavor would try to use the works and words of Christ to demean anyone else's religion.
Jesus was pretty clear about humility and self righteousness.

So? Do you think the Angel of death when he went over the Israelite houses in Egypt would have saved the people if they just threw grape juice on their doors instead of the lambs blood?
