The story of Mary & Joseph and the announcement of Jesus arrival and the whole story of Christ's birth through his crucifixion. Why? It gives me a hope and a future.

Raping And Killing
"Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished." (Isaiah 13:15-16)

These verses foretold the deaths of the people of Babylon. Fortunately not everyone in Babylon (now modern Iraq) fell by the sword or had their children dashed to pieces or their wives raped (just another instance of errors in the Bible). How some people who believe in an infallible Bible can accept these verses as God inspired, or morally uplifting can only give evidence to the blinding nature of belief. For if we believe these words as God inspired, then the killing of children and the raping of wives must also come as an inspiration from the Supreme Being.

Actually, I could NEVER have a favorite because I learn something from everything, and when I am re-reading a verse from WHERE I am in my life, it could have a meaning and hit my gut right where it hurts that I did something right OR wrong.

For with that verse alone God empowers us the spirit of power to choose Him and His love
with the spirit of LOVE to forgive, to sare and accept

This verse says AFTER I'VE ASKSED JESUS INTO MY HEART AND ASKED FORGIVENESS FOR MY SINS

This nonbeliever is a constant admirer of both the KJV's Old and the New Testaments because of the Elizabethan language--it is so beautiful. Do I believe it to be true or the "word of God"? No, of course not.

The coming of Christ to save humanity. Jesus said whoever believes in me and live according to his teachings will inherit eternal life. Gentiles have a privilege because the Jew rejected Christ so we, all gentiles have the opportunity to be saved. we simply need to live in harmony with Jesus's teachings.

The story of the tower of Babel.

Why: God mixes up our language and spreads us across the earth for the very purpose of ensuring that people will war amongst themselves and hate one another for their differences. He does this out of fear of us, that we could become more powerful than himself. I like this story because it hints at your potential. That we are like gods without the opportunity to be gods. Kind of sad when you think about it. Poetic.
