I agree with you! Thank you for reminding ALL Christians that if it wasn't for the Catholic church, they would have no Bible to read, study, and throw back in our faces (interesting to think about that now...have to wonder what Christ will be saying to some of these "Christians" on their day of Judgement)

That's weird I thought the gospels were written by the apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and almost every other book in the New Testament was written by Paul. They were Jews and hardly Catholic last time I checked as well as nearly all the Old Testament authors. Establishing the canon of scripture has been the work of the Holy Spirit more so than the Catholic church who still recognizes the Gospel of Thomas and Maccabees. Besides, correct me if I'm mistaken, I thought lay Catholics weren't suppose to read the Bible and instead rely upon their priest to interpret it for them.

Danny, I agree with you.
Esther, Tyndale was not the first to translate the NT into English.
John Wycliffe was the first person to translate the Bible into the English language, in 1385. Because he lived nearly a century before Gutenberg invented the printing press, his New Testaments and Bibles were of course, hand-written manuscripts.
EDIT: Matt, the Church has not changed the Scriptures. You'll need to back up that acusation with some proof.

What actually happened is that the catholic church had one of their 'round table meetings' and decided to accept what was already acknowledged. This became known as the cannon of scripture, but pre-existed the church counsel.
Just FYI Paul was not a catholic, nor john, nor Matthew, nor Luke...and this list goes on. they were JEWISH! Just as Peter was.
And why would the Catholic Bible be a distinctive and different Bible from the KJV if what you propose were true?

properly, because of the fact the Bible is a Catholic e book, compiled by employing the Catholic Church for using the Catholic Church; and thanks to the fact the hot testomony exchange into formed from Catholic doctrine that the Catholic Church had taught for over 3 hundred years in the previous the Bible exchange into compiled; and thanks to the fact the Catholic Church on my own has the means to precise interpret this is very own e book (undergo in techniques? "The Holy Spirit will handbook YOU to all actuality" - a promise made to the 1st bishops of the Catholic Church and no one else); and thanks to the fact Protestants have consistently confirmed their lack of ability to interpret Scripture for over 500 years (1000's of conflicting manmade denominations can not be incorrect! appropriate?); and thanks to the fact there are extra scripture readings at each and every Catholic Mass than at maximum Protestant worship centers; and thanks to the fact the Catholic Church study, interpreted and taught the Bible for a million,2 hundred years in the previous any Protestant even observed it; YEP! I even have study the Bible! yet you may anticipate that. i'm Catholic.

when the writings that make up the new testament were written, there WAS no catholic church-no popes, no nuns, no rosary, no confessional, no indulgences, no saint-and-mary worship, no purgatory...none of that man-made nonsense...there was only Christ's church, which is the same now as it was then...the world-wide body of believers...i recognize, as the ONLY spiritual authority, the Lord God, and His Son Christ, the Savior... the pope, cardinals, bishops, priests, nuns, and all the rest have my best wishes for long and happy lives, but as for having any authority in MY life??? fahgeddaboudit...

The Catholic Church approved and wrote the New Testament?
Thank you...I needed a good laugh today. I imagine Matthew, Mark, Luke, John(cousin to Jesus), Peter, Timothy, John and Paul would heartily disagree.

Do Catholics realize they are reading a tome that was revised and edited to fit the needs of a political tyrant at the time of it's creation? Do Catholics realize that this is about the seventh tome written as the first six were too easy to understand and taught that punishment for breaking laws were not as severe as depicted in the books now, so the king had the writers murdered?

If the Catholic Church wrote them why are they changing them with new versions of the Bible. Many of which eliminate the name of Jesus, and Christ is some cases. To buy your doctrine of Demons is one thing, but to accuse us of authorizing it is another. I hope that one day you wake up and see the errors of your church. I dont hate Catholics, I just think that they have been blinded by their system. I'm not sure that your not Christians, but the church is doing a lot that is wrong. These Bible revisions that the Catholic Church has developed have seriously damaged Christianity. They give unbelievers more excuses to bash Christians, and further divide us.

any book you read, movie or TV show or even podcast has been complied and edited by someone else. Passively taking in information puts you at the mercy of whoever put it together. You can only "know" what you experience first hand everything else is rumor.
