No real way of determining the Exact number but I would say many hundreds of thousands n all sides.
The positive side was many killed near the front lines, were used to feed the troops who had not seen good fresh meat for many weeks.

Let's see. there were million's of human being's killed. No one has an accurate count really whatever the statics's quoted say. No one counted the animal's including the horse's. Sorry. Simple brutal fact.

One estimate is a quarter million for the British. You can extrapolate for the Other nations at war.
