well I live with grandma and grandpa and I get so emberased when I go on dates because they come out side with me and say hi to the parents and everything .they always want to know who i'm dating and what i'm doing . I dont even enjoy having my boyfriend over because they are just sooo . you know . they dont trust me at all and I know that . I just cant take it anymore why are they so over protitive ?i'm 14

because you are only 14 yrs old if u were my daughter u would not even be dating yet so count your lucky stars girl !!!!

You are 14. They are not being over-protective because at the beginning of a social dating situation all females, regardless of age should have their dates meet someone who is a parent, a friend or someone who will be on their side. You are lucky to have someone who is interested in you beside the raging male wolves you might be dating. After you have dated someone several times, perhaps this greeting by coming outside will not be necessary because your date will have established a good reputation and you will have shown that you are responsible in a dating situation. A new date who gets offended because your people want to meet him is someone you really should be wary of and think twice about going out with.

the answer in in your question, you are 14, it's not that they don't trust you, it's only that they want to protect you and have your best interest at heart. Be happy that you have your grandparents to look after you this way, many children are neglected and get into trouble and no one cares about them, believe me it's not a bad thing, don't feel embarrassed, just laugh it off with your dates, if they like you enough they will understand, and even have a lot of respect for you because you are respecting your grandparents.
