Well, I doubt that any court would call it child abuse, but I know for a fact that it is mentally degrading! One time I went to see an old boyfriend, and wanted to impress his family. Unfortunately, I went with my sister and we stopped first at her boyfriend's mom's house. The mom didn't like my clothes, so she made me get into some old fashioned get-up, and I cried all the way there. I'm sure that someone explained the situation for me, but I still felt terrible about it.
Sounds like these foster parents are living in the past. The mom probably cleaned out her closet of clothes that she's had for many years to put the girl in.
Doubt that there's anything that you can do other than to feel sorry for this poor girl.

Since I have problems removing my phone from a 13 year old's ear, I'm guessing the 15 year old can dial a phone and call Child Protection if she feels she's being abused. She's also in school. she can talk to a counselor there, also. I don't think that wearing outdated clothes is child abuse. I also know that many 15 year olds have jobs and can buy their own clothes is this is really an issue for her.

what goes against her is the fact she is simple, people who are 'normal' would just put that down to her being simple, if the foster parents are doing a good job and they are both being cared for then really what harm is being done? However if you feel that strongly about it do something....give her some clothes via the foster parents get involved with her and her sibbling the choice is yours.....

Do you know for certain that its the foster parents' that are doing all this? Perhaps you might consider that the girl might like to be different and loves her own style! everyone is not the same you know. Celebrate diversity ! Towing the line in life extinguishes the flames of creativity and expression of the very best in each of us. Please consider all of this for your own sake. Be happy and be an individual, not a "crowdie"

Nope, doesnt even come close to it. All they are responsible for is to provide shelter and food and clothes. There is not a thing as to describe what the clothes look like as they are in good shape and clean and if all they can afford is outdated but in good shape clothes, theyre not abusing those kids.

no i dont think its child abuse, the foster parents are doing the best they can, and social services must be checking them on a regular basis, why dont you try and make friends with the girl and get to know her personality and then offer advise.

I DONT SEE IT AS ABUSE - CONSIDERING THE FACT SHE WAS A FOSTER CHILD AND THE SITUATION COULD BE SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH WORSE. SHE HAS A SOLID ENVIORNMENT WHICH SHE MAY HAVE NEVER HAD PLUS SHE IS WITH HER BROTHER. SO IF YOU WANT LEAVE A "SUPRISE" ON THE DOORSTEP - CLOTHES OR GIFT CARD FOR HER TO BUY SOME OTHER CLOTHES.

I think someone should call the people over the foster parents and tell them what is happening. It may not be abuse but it sounds like neglect.
