Nothing . I can tell by your question you don't know much about shotguns. A 1100 is not a target version. I have never herd of a target version shotgun. You should decide what you are going to hunt and then look for a gun to fit the need. It depends on the barrel length / choke / gauge. Without getting to far into it ask another question ( be specific ). example What is a good shotgun to hunt doves with? A Remington 1100 twelve gauge 36inch barrel full choke target shotgun Would be a bad choice.

If its a 1983, then it really isn't that old. Probably between 200 and 350. Look on gunbroker.com to see similar guns and see what they are selling for.

Look at gunbroker.com or just go to a book store look it up in one of the many Gun Guides they have. Just buy a cup off coffee so you don't feel guilty. Also, Walmart has gun books in the sporting goods sections just flip through it. I looked up the value on my Para Ordnance Nite Hawg last week. Good Luck and shoot straight.

If this is a gun your talking about, for the older guns my brother pays a little more than expected because he says their like vintage and can be worth more one day.
