An Arizona man who mortgaged his house to finance a small fence on someone else's private land along the U.S.-Mexico border is suing the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps for putting up cheap cattle fencing rather than an "Israeli-style" barrier, and failing to complete even that.

"Jim Campbell is a great American," declared MCDC President Chris Simcox a year ago, when Campbell gave the group $100,000 for the fence project. Campbell said then, "I can now rest comfortably knowing that I can look the next generation in the eye and say to them: 'We stepped up and did what we could to preserve the future of your country.'" Now Campbell has changed his tune.

He trusted the minutemen to do a job that would take more than a minute? I bet they laughed all the way to the bank.

I was very sad to see he had mortgaged his house, but I suspect he is just having 'donor's remorse' (and who wouldn't?). The minutemen are building the double layer fence as well, but they took off to have their border patrol in Arizona in April. Out of 700 reports of illegal immigrant crossings they gave to the Border Patrol, I understand that the border patrol was only able to respond to 200 or so.

(as an update their web page says "1652 Illegal Aliens Sighted; 501 Apprehensions by Border Patrol ")

We don't need a fence, just enforce the laws on employers who employ illegals (make the penalties very punitive), stop educating illegals, no welfare benefits, just tell them there is nothing here for them and they will go back home, But to do that you must first stop voting into office liberal socialist. if you want to know who is a liberal socialist , look at the person who you last voted in. examples:- GW Bush, J Bush, Ted (Chappaquidick) Kennedy, Feinstien, Graham, Kyl, McCain. Most democrats, and 50% of Republicans.

Building a wall is no longer the answer. Our president and senators want amnesty for the illegal immigrants as well as health benefits and a retirement plan. Those against the immigration have lost the war.

So - if I am anti ILLEGAL immigration I am stupid? Or even retarded? hmmmm..........

So if someone comes into your house and takes over your remote control you are smarter than me? Sorry - I would want the person out of my house. If that person tells me that they can't go back because my house is better and theirs is a total disaster.....sorry buddy I worked and contributed to my house being the way it is.....go back to your house and clean it up...try some Pine-Sol....stick with it....gather your friends and family - maybe they can help you - solidarity can be a great force....oh but that is known as that is what is going on in my house, this person has joined forces as a solid union to try to convince me that I am wrong in wanting my kids to go to a school and not have the money that goes to those schools so diluted with people going there that aren't paying. Sorry I live near San Fran - know of too many people that ARE here illegally - can't seem to be guilted into thinking I am wrong in this. Does that make me retarded? Nope! Makes me strong enough and wise enough to stand up for myself and voice my OWN opinion and not one that is being force fed to me. I can think for myself thankyouverymuch! The name calling - doesn't hurt at all.....

The man embodies the real American spirit. He gives of himself and then find out that he got screwed. Thats the typical American experience !!!
You give somebody money to do something, and they buy the cheapest crap they can find, and pocket the rest of the money !!!! I hope he wins his lawsuit !!!!
Our government needs to secure our borders, and quit treating ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS like they are family or like they are even wanted here. Screw them, and anybody who is on their side !!!!

No - he is just fanatical. Fanatics on both sides of the issue and then a large population of people who are moderate and have opposing views.

Well obviously you are not a very educated man yourself ~ using name calling to get your very UN-calculated point across. In fact after reading your so called question I didn't see a point to it at all ~ maybe you should go to school and get reeducated your self.
