When I visit Canada next month is my German license good or do I need the International license?

The rule of thumb: If your drivers license is not in English, you DO require an International License with it. You may get by depending on Province and car rental, but you are suppose to have one and coming without one limits your options.

Check out this site. I have it on the driving page in English, but you can click on home, and change the country in the upper left to Visitors from Germany.

you can use it in Canada I would say to buy the car insurance when you rent as it covers everything its about $20.00 a day but well worth it. Enjoy your stay in my beautiful country.
