Defination of Mind; ( In my view )

Mind is the collection of energy force which drive living thing's brain. Soul is the driving force (energy) or attribute of Mind.

Human's 5 senses are connect to Mind to describe all the motions.

Example

Walking by the roadway, we might observe a vehicle in a motion. It appeared from one direction, come towards us, and disappears in the other direction. By observation of this long chain of actions of the vehicle, our mind forms the notion that the vehicle is in motion.

Our mind form the motion by 2 physical organ parts. Eyes and Ears.

The eyes reflected the color projective element in the car appearing and disappering at various points of the road, and by the calculation of the various points it appeared on the road, the mind formed the sensation that the vehicle was in motion. Similarly, the ears reflected the projective sound element which reached our ear with varing intensity and from varing directions throught its passage...

and by calculationg the degrees of intensity and the directions from which the sound appeared, the mind formed an impression that the vehicle was in motion.

I really appreciate for contributing your point of view.

MIT along with many other engineering institutions... like GA Tech, Cal Poly, etc have done extensive research into what they do call the MIND... the operating system for the Brain... they point out a distinction in their work

this is all a part of a more in depth study into Artificial Intelligence... they are able to replicate many of the processes of the MIND but not all... they have discovered that the manipulation of the possible codes can create many variants... some of the concepts were used in a nutshell form in the movie I,Robot

but if you want to know what science thinks about the MIND
research Artificial Intelligence

Try starting with science. Science covers two parts of what it means to be human. The body is relatively well understood. The mind is less understood, but it is a manifestation of the activity of the brain. Science has a fairly good grasp of the kind of mental activity going on in various animals. If you choose to call the sun-tracking of a sunflower, or the water-seeking of roots, an operation of mind, you could, but it wouldn't be a scientific view.

The soul or spirit of man isn't physical. It's unlikely that science will ever be able to prove or disprove its existence. For a good overview of how it could all make sense, see the reference, written by a well-respected scientist, the head of the Human Genome Project.

No, because not all living things have a mind, by your definition. You say that a mind is a force driving something's brain, but many living things don't have brains. Plants and bacteria, for instance.

As for your example, it's just an explanation of the difference between sensation and perception.

I don't think any scientists share your definition of what a mind is. Most I think would disagree that it is energy, but instead the activity of the physical organ of the brain. Therefore, one may conclude that all living things which have brains have a mind to some extent, even if it operates very differently from our own.

Well, it'd be pretty hard to go about and PROVE that every living thing has a mind. We can safely assume that all humans do because we've never observed one acting like it doesn't, but again, this can't actually be proven. So to answer your question, in short, no.

Actually we only have 1 sense sub-divided into 5.

In order to see, light must touch our eyes.
In order to hear, sound must touch our ears.
In order to smell, the fragrant particles must touch our nose.
Taste is the same and lastly the 1, TOUCH.

renew your mind onto Christ..and you'll be a great scientist or inventor.
folks of such mind..are BIGGER!
enstien has a bigger mind..due to meditation on truth..that unlock hidden truth.
but a carnal (MEATHEAD) can't fix a car. or cook a good meal without ERROR.
and with all of your smart..GOD will make FOOLS out of such folks..as it is written..he will use folks like us..regular simple folks..and exalt them..wiser..and richer.and healthier than them full of SELF wisdom..for their mind are PUFFED UP..and full of "SELF" glory(pride/ego) if a disease come to take your mind..what do you have left..? meathead.
if a mind of a christian is gone..our spirit still live on.
yours that is DEAD.without christ..is hell bound.by your choice.
