You mean tobacco? No. In a perfect world, where I'm the supreme benevolent dictator, all the pros and cons of any product or behavior would be made known and if you choose to do something that ends up harming you, you'd just have to suck it up and suffer from your own foolishness.
Now if you were trying to spell Tabasco, that's another thing altogether.

What needs to happen is for everyone to take responsibility for their own behavior and the consequences. An argument could be made for banning alcohol too. Besides, bans like that don't work. Has banning marijuana worked? No. People will always find a way to get what they want.

I don't smoke or use tobacco, but don't want to see it banned.
There are already WAY too many people in jail just for smoking weed. Another big program to get rid of some mild drug would just cause more suffering than it got rid of.
Let's try to live and be tolerant of other people, even if they do things to themselves that we wouldn't.

It sounds good to me, at least on the surface. However, people do stupid things all the time, and if we threw every stupid person into jail, we'd have to use skyscrapers for prisons. I WOULD like to see the growing of tobacco prohibited in the U.S. - not likely, thanks to the companies that have our legislators in their pockets, but one can wish. If the cost of smoking gets high enough, a lot of people will quit - espeically kids who don't have access to a lot of money as a rule.

Why?
Anything in excess is bad for you. Should we then ban those other things?

I think there are too many people who smoke that would disagree with you.
