It's still easy in the UK, people laugh at some of my beliefs but mostly they just let me get on with it as long as I don't keep on about it or give them the feeling I judge them for what they do. As for personally following God's word in my life, I find it pretty easy. I had a rather dramatic conversion in relation to other christians I know, and I simply decided that if God was real and Jesus was alive, then I would have to decide at some point whether or not I would take the Bible to be the infallible word of God. I decided to take the leap and have to say I have never found anything to make me change my mind, and I have studied it a bit. I don't get tempted too much to do things God would rather I didn't do, but it is hard not to get caught up in for example gossiping. Some friends I lunch with spend the whole time talking about other people we know and I struggle to stay in my chair, I often feel like walking out but don't want to look holier-than-thou! The hardest thing is knowing how to relate to those who believe the post-modern worldview, which states that all beliefs are true if they are true for someone. Not many like to think that only one way can be true, or to be challenged that their own beliefs may be wrong. It sounds so arrogant these days to say that 'my truth is true and yours isn't.'

It's not easy, but not impossible either. No-one is perfect so we can't live by the Bible 100%, but the important thing is that we try. I don't see the point in people going to church on a Sunday, and living their lives contrary to the Bible the rest of the week. Do they think God is fooled?

At 1 Peter 2:21 says: "In fact, to this course, you were called, because even Christ suffered for you, leaving a model for you to follow his steps closely." Note that we are encouraged to follow Christ's steps closely, not perfectly but not as much as feel like either.

Interestingly the Bible tells us to walk by the Spirit and to depend upon God to enable us.

To do this we are to deny ourselves daily, take up our cross and follow Jesus.

We live then by a new life and from a new heart all given to us by God, if only we are willing.

Though the Bible is God's word made more sure for us yet it is by God that we live.

Why should that be considered easy or hard? It is simply different. As a caterpillar cannot fly until it becomes a butterfly, yet when it is a butterfly it flies, that is it's new nature.

At times it is easier than others as in anything. Over all, it serves as a protection for us following Bible council. Keeping free from fornication and drunkedness keeps us away from the STDs rampant today and the pain it brings the families. We maintain control of ourselves and do not endanger others by being drunk.

Maintaining a proper relationship with God brings much peace and happiness.

The thing is coming to an "accurate knowledge" of the Bible to find out what the Bible truly requires of us.--Philip. 1:9; Col. 1:9

We are all flawed humans. I don't know why it is easier to live "wrong" than right - but it is. I love the Bible's laws. It gives me paramiters and I need that. I don't have a lot of "self control" so it is a good thing for me to live by. It is not hard and I agree with most everything it says to do or don't do. Many of the concepts of the Bible aren't popular by the worlds standards so sometimes it is hard standing up for or disagreeing with others who don't believe the same way.

It is extremely simple, however simple and easy are *not* synonyms! Being born is simple, too...but it's a long and painful process.
The problem isn't with the Bible but with ourselves and the world. Or, as the old prayer book puts it, "the world, the flesh and the devil."
Mostly the world and the flesh, really.
The Bible is the handbook for the human being: Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.

Well our society still has it's basis in biblical morality and we are generally in Britain brought up with these morals. It's all grace anyhow and no one is perfect so it's just following what the Bible and tradition tell you I suppose. I think that's the same for everyone in general. It's most likely harder for young people because of the way the drinking and socialising culture has gone.

Without the grace of God, it is impossible. Even with the grace of God, I fail every day. That doesn't stop me trying! The Bible, the word of God, is the only true guide in this world. It alone gives light to my path. I thank God for the Bible. It contains everything I need to know for salvation and for living. It leaves me without excuse. It inspires whilst simultaneoulsly chastising me. It encourages whilst rebuking. It is the power of God unto salvation. The blood of martyrs has been shed that I might be able to read it. It is a living thing in a sin-deadened world. Without it, I would be adrift in a ferocious sea of godlessness.

I gave up on the bible when I discovered that the book of genesis was just pure fiction and the world had not been created in about a week some 6,000 years ago.

If the opening of this so-called book of fact is just fiction it does not hold out much promise for the rest of it!

Read Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion. It is to the 21st century what the bible was to the dark ages!!

the word christian means follower of christ,it is hard today to live by bible standards when it seems that most in the world dont care how they live and whom they offend.God and christ are not looking for perfection, they wont find it,but so long as we try to live by it and we show we are trying by seeking the true religion and adhering to bible standards then our lives will be fuller.the question is which is the true religion and can we prove it.
