Actually,I'm addicted to laxatives for a few years now and my problem with constipation has gotten so bad that I sometimes feel I can't live like this anymore. I've tried everything I ever heard that could help, seen every doctor that I know of...nothing helps. I don't need advices about food or eating cos I know all about that. It doesn't matter what I eat or how much of water do I drink, doesn't change anything. I need an advice from someone who has had a similiar problem to tell me how to stop taking laxatives? What to do? I feel so depressed, life makes no sense to me anymore....
Thank you.

Eat WELL. Good foods and alot of fibre.
And do this every day.
Your colon will eventually come right.
Unless you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which is another Answer!

Sounds like your getting all kinds of advice here, most bad. How's this for starters, "do you want to die?" and, that's a fact. Because, if you keep eating laxatives like candy your going to keep your colon from getting the proper moisture needed for one. you'll start dehydrating, if you haven't already.
Then you wont have to worry, they'll do the worrying for you at the hospital.
Then we'll talk about the nutrients your loosing through the intestinal tract, this, you know of course is where all your nutrients are sent to various places in your body to keep it alive. You won't have to worry about that either I'm afraid, the hospital again, can do that for you.

If your organs start shutting down due to the lack of moisture, nutrients, fats and other goodies that your body will be missing because you chose to expel it with laxatives, then the hospital will try very hard to bring them back but, you'll probably be in a coma now and your relatives will have the choice to either pay thousands of dollars for your care or, pull the plug.

You want help, this is what your getting yourself into sweetheart, how much worse can you have it, stop what your doing right now and get with the program, it's life.

It is not necessary to take laxative. Acupressure treatment plus drinking of lukewarm water and giving stomach some rest at least one meal during a week will set the things right. Also include more water/buttermilk and leafy vegetables in the diet. Apply this method : Put the thumb on the middle of chin and rub it or giver pressure around it for 2 to 6 minutes. This will solve the problems of constipation.

Try "Mineral Oil". To start, take one tablespoon at bedtime followed by a full glass of water or juice. Mineral oil, although considered a laxative, it's stimulant-free, and what it actually does is to lubricate your intestines, so feces move naturally. If you are not going out, you can take it during the day as well, BUT, be very sure not to take it at least one hour before or one hour after any meal, because it might block the absortion of some vitamins and minerals from the food. My ob-gyn recommended it to me because it's even safe during pregnancy.

It very well could be Celiac Disease, a very common autoimmue disease that causes constipation among many other symtpoms. Diagnosis involved a blood test and you need to be eating gluten before testing for it to work. If you do have Celiac, a gltuen free is all it takes to make u feel better. Here are some links and feel free to email me for more info.

Take LOTS of laxatives if a smaller amount doesn't already work.

Have you tried prune juice. Beans are a good laxative too, but might make you gassy.
