Do you think we come here to answer peoples questions to feel some significance?

I know sometimes I do,with all honesty.

I feel like i'm helping those in need who cannot get attention elsewhere. Answerers fill a void in the daily confused person's life.

I feel special every time I get the best answer. I also learn things myself when reading others answers or further researching my own. It's like a little intellectual quest every time I click on a question. I've talked it up to my friends and most of them don't understand what I see in Answers, but I just keep coming back.

Everyone I know personally has heard what I have to say. Now it's you guys' turn because everyone else has quit listening! :)

It is nice to be able to share what you feel about certain things with others. To a point, it validates who you are and gives you a platform on which to state your point of view. I have learned a lot from this site by the posts I have read. I hope that maybe something I have said will teach someone or help them learn a new concept or way of thinking.

Christians come here to witness to unbelievers, as we are instructed to do in the Bible, and to encourage other Christians to do so.

For the first time I like almost all the answers to this question. People come here out of loneliness, boredom, to learn, and most importantly, to try to help other people. Good work guys.

I'm sure that everyone has their own reason. For me there are two motivations. First, the opportunity to learn from genuine people with diverse viewpoints. Second, the opportunity to share my own experience with those who have a genuine interest. Along both paths I have met some warm and wonderful people here.

Sometimes, yes, other times, like now, it's raining and cold outside and I've read every book in the house and we don't have TV, so why not just throw a few sentences, personal opinions, on yahoo answers.

Public forum such as this are a medium of idea exchange and the interactions associated thereto may be a source of enjoyment by participants. The lonely may take it to where it gives their existence relevance. Me ... I'm just bored with putzing around on the weekends.

Yes JC I think there is some truth in what you say and it is so plain amongst those who come here to redicule and mock,they seem to get off on the support of like-minded nuts.

I signed up with the intention of getting 2 questions answered. Then I started answering questions and then just kinda liked it.

No, I come here when I'm bored. I enjoy reading the questions and I enjoy helping others.
