Imagine how Joseph Smith felt. Some called him a liar and treated him with contempt. All he was doing was telling the truth.
Remember that continuing to do what's right, especially in the face of opposition, will help us grow and ultimately lead to greater happiness.
It is still amazing to me how professed Christians can be so unlike Christ with their accusations and hateful speech. Don't they see the irony in that behavior?

Ultimately, it's only God who makes the judgement calls. Sadly, a lot of those who profess to be Christians forger the Scripture, "judge not, lest ye be judged." Certainly, I disagree with some of the Mormon doctrine. I used to feel even stronger about it until I saw the documentary, "New York Doll;" it was about the late Arthur "Killer" Kane, bassist for The New York Dolls. After many dissappointments, Kane joined the Mormon church. What an amazing soul, and an amazing story. It certainly changed the way I look at Mormons. There is no doubt in my mind that Arthur Kane went to heaven when he died. You could truly see God's thumbprint on his life. When I pray sometimes, I close my prayer the same way Arthur did before he and his former bandmates went on stage in London, after 30 years being estranged. And God was so merciful to him in the way his life ended. I watcched it because I like punk and glam rock biographies, but came away feeling very blessed, indeed.

I wouldn't call you a liar. In fact I would say you have been deceived, but at some point you have to use your intellect and be honest with yourself if you start to have doubts. Mormons will tell you not to question. I would say that would be your first sign that you need to do your research and do it faster. At some point if you ignore your intellect and bring others into a faith that you are no longer sure of, then you too will become a deceiver.

I wouldn't put any stock on what others think of you on Yahoo. This is like a swap meet of ideas in a not particularly nice part of town
Don't take anything here personal. Just remember that calling yourself a mormon will put you in the sights of a lot of people who have passionate ideas about it one way or another.
Why not bring up questions of doctrine, instead of personal integrity? No one here knows you so criticism is easy, even if unwarranted. Doctrine is arguable no matter who is espousing it.

This question is unparseable. Even so, from what you have here, this seems like the right sort of question to take to your Father in Heaven in prayer.

One of my oldest friends is a Mormon, and she's very honest. You have the right to your beliefs. Don't let people wrongly define you and put you down.

Well, Mormons think that if you have to lie to get someone to become a Mormon it is o.k. At least this is what was told to me by a Mormon and they said Scripture even proved that it was o.k. to lie sometimes because Abraham lied about Sarah being his wife.

Well.. from my understanding, the Mormon religion is full of secrets and lies.
Where doe is say in the bible, not book of mormon, that one MUST be of a certain religion in order to go to heaven?
Isn't it clear that you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, repent of your sins, and live a Christ worthly life?
Mormons don't believe that Jesus Christ is their savior. Something wrong...

All that matters is if God finds you honest, and you live your life before him with truth.People will always try to tear you to shreds, they succeed when you begin to believe lies about yourself.
