Hinduism is not so much a religion as a culture. All Indians are Hindu, and someone can be both Hindu and Christian, or both Hindu and Islamic.
Over time the more mythological aspects of Hinduism will fade away and become nothing more than fairy tales, but that same change is occurring in all religions- including Christianity.
The sillyness will end, but the philosophies, traditions, cultures, and world views will remain.

will not vanish even after so many years. While it is true that
some were converted to christianity, itdoes not mean that
a majority of the people will follow. History proved to us that
after so many years of religious wars and conquests, the
prevailing religion of a country still survive.

its been more than 800 yrs,many religions have been born and died, Hinduism is still alive. It will be forever, just because it has no boundaries or Limits.
another thing, the person who said here "good for people and bad for rats and cows" great answer, but you know, i am so sad and so sorry to inform you that your answer will never be fulfilled.
tsk tsk tsk. you poor soul. till now Hinduism or the followers of Hinduism have not hurt people or started a war. i should not name other religions,because it is against my principles to condemn other religions(because i believe in each of them), i would like to add, that till now people have died due to religious wars of so many religious problems of so may religions except for some, and one of the "peaceful" religions is Hinduism. what is bad for people and what is bad for the world, is something you should not mention in a question regarding Hinduism.
anyway, ignorant minds cannot be persuaded. i am wasting my energy.

Hinduism will not disappear.
The only thing that is killing hinduism are the hindus USING the religion to force "tradition" as a society.
Hinduism is a free and beautiful religion, hindu societies are for the most part oppressive.
