I used to pay a girl to take my kids to the park when they were younger. She'd play with them, take them for walks, do crafts with them, kinda like babysitting, but I was still at home. The extra pair of hands really did help and when she got older, she became my regular babysitter. Be responsible if you are caring for kids, remember you are working, and hanging out with your friends is not in the job description! Have a Happy Summer!

Well, if you're an American citizen, I don't think you can get a work permit until you are about fifteen. I do think that you're a little young to start baby-sitting, but maybe you could mow lawns, walk dogs, or do some other pet-sitting stuff. You also might want to consider washing cars, gardening, or having that good, old classic lemonade stand. :P

Unless it's on a family owned farm or delivering newspapers, I'm pretty sure 12 year olds aren't allowed to work. At least that's how it is in Ohio. You'll have to check out your own state laws, but there's not many options for someone that young.

Child labor laws are pretty strict against a 12 year old working. However this doesn't mean that he/she can't earn money doing "odd jobs".

Try this: Paper routes, yard work, doing chores for allowence, Mowing lawns, or even a lemon aid stand.

I did paper routes between the ages of 11-14. Usually local town, smaller papers give jobs to 12+ year olds, with opp's to earn bonuses!

You can try your local farms, to pick veg's. (beans, corn, squash etc...) Or ask your aunt/ grandmother/mother if they need help with cleaning. Or you can mow lawns, rake leaves for your neighbor's, and in the winter u could shove snow for the elderly.
