It does't have a large/spiny dorsil finn like a bass. And not the mouth shape of a trout.

I live in Maine. The fish were caught and released today from a small pond on my property. The body shape is very close to a trout. They were 5"-6" long olive green color with a darker 1/2" wide stripe down the side. The pectorial fins were redish brown.

Also the spikes were 1/8" in length and hard. unlike a catfish barbels.

If you can attach a link to photo of the fish no doubt we can ID it, or if you can give some indications of size, colors and if this is a fish you caught, what part of the country you are in would help as well. If it's a fish from a pet store let us know that as well.
