My vet recommends cottage cheese also, mixed with white rice. I wouldn't go with more than 1/2 cup at a time. I'd wait a couple hours and if he still wants more, then you can give him a bit more. Go slow when he is recovering.

I feed cottage cheese to my dogs, and they all love it too. For a husky pup, I would give about 2 - 3 tablespoons per day. I would also give a good probiotic to help the gut bacteria get back to normal after being ill. As someone who does not vaccinate at all , I am curious about dogs that come down with parvo. Do you mind mailing me privately? I'd like to know at what age your pup came down with this, and at what age he had his vaccinations? My email is in my profile. Thanks!
Good luck with your pup!!

HI! How's Butterball?? sounds like she is doing really well. I would recommend not more than a big tablespoon in with his food at each meal. To much will give her the runs! Yuck!
Also someone mentioned low fat no sugar plain yogurt. That's good too but not along with the cottage cheese. One or the other OK.
Have a wonderful day with Butterball OK.

You should probably call the vet on that one cause you dont want to feed to much or to little. So just give your vet a call.

I wouldn't give him more than a couple of tablespoons a day. I think your vet likely meant to give him something in his food to encourage him to eat. You could also try giving him a tablespoon of no-fat, no sugar added yogurt - it's good for a dog's digestion.

i think that dairy products cause dogs to have diarhea and would never feed my dog a dairy product how ever if your vet told you to do this then call his office and have the staff ask him how much of this you should feed him.
