Isn't the Jesuit Oath a hoax. I have heard of some secret oath and read a liitle of it but I have also read that it has been proven a hoax, just as much as the Davinci code. Is it just people that want a good story.

Probably an anti-Jesuit hoax.
The poor Jesuits. They always get picked on.
A Jesuit says to a Capuchin friar, "You know, it's not certain that Judas didn't have a beard," (referring to the Capuchin custom of wearing a beard).
The Capuchin replies, "That's true, but we're certain he was in the company of Jesus." (refering to the Jesuit's official name, the Society of Jesus or "Compan^ia de Jesus" in Spanish).
A Jesuit says to a Passionist, "Paul of the Cross, why is he a saint? What did he do that was so great?"
The Passionist replies, "Well I'm not sure, but the mere fact he advised Clement XIII to suppress the Society of Jesus to me means he deserves the honors of the altar."

Hi Elisha, I recall reading about this a long time ago and if I remember correctly this false oath was circulated during elections to the congress in 1913 to prevent Catholics getting in and was also circulated in the main Protestant newspapers of the day.
