The government is spying, trying to build a case against the notorious "Pink Princess" and her crime syndicate.
They are a formidable bunch. Those in Dartford beware.

OASIS Hong Kong airline, displaying at Biggin Hill Air Show. They normally fly Gatwick to HK 6 times a week since last October.

What you saw was probably the Oasis Hong Kong Airline Boeing 747/400 which was displaying at the Biggin Hill Air Fair. It was circling around your area while waiting for its displaying slot. It was flying low to avoid interfering with passenger air traffic in the London Terminal Manoeuvring Area, also because it needed to be low anyway in order to display.

It's the Biggin Hill Air Fair this weekend. There have been lots of planes flying over Kent this afternoon.

When a plane is circling for no apparent reason, it is waiting for a landing space at the nearby airport. If the nearest airport is some distance away, there are probably operational problems causing planes to be backed up for miles with planes circling in various locations waiting for clearance to advance closer to the airport

i think they are STAR routes (standard arrival routes) probably for Heathrow. Aircraft circling are generally on a holding pattern and descend to various levels then land. This is because the airport is chokka and cant handle all the arriving aircraft at once

Its either at a holding point waiting to perform an instrument approach, or its actually more than one flight using the same approach.

There was a young man from Kent,
Whose **** was so long it was bent;
To same himself trouble,
He'd stick in in doubled;
So instead of coming, he went.
