I'm almost 16 and I was wondering if it is still possible that 16 year olds can join the navy. If so, what do I have to do to join the navy.

You first have to be a high school graduate. If you are graduating at 16 you should be going to college so you can be an officer.

There's nothing you can do about it. The law is the law, and it's there for a reason.
Here in Australia the legal age to join the Defence Force is 17. I'm 16 this year and graduate from year 12 in November. SOOOOO, I just miss out.
And believe me. It sucks.
But it's ok; I mean there are plenty of other ways to serve your country, and if need be, you can always wait till next year.
Myself - I'll be joining the Army Reserves while going to regular uni instead (something like your National Guard I think)

good luck with whatever you decide to, the navy is great and honourable organisation

I am sure you are going to get some people in these posts to stop you from making a mistake like joining the military at a young age. Some people forget that this is "Yahoo Answers" not "Yahoo Lectures"

Here is your answer:

"By federal law (10 U.S.C., 510), the minimum age for enlistment in the United States Military is 17 (with parental consent) and the maximum age is 35 (Note: Congress changed this to age 42 in 2006"

Any felony, no matter when it occurred and what the outcome was, requires a moral waiver for enlistment. You'll need to speak with a Navy recruiter to get the paperwork going; it could take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to get a final decision. Good luck.

In the USA the age is 17 w/ parental consent and you can even do your Basic training inbetween your junior and senior years and after graduation move on to the rest of your training.

Keep yourself healthy and fit, and well-informed on matters relating to navy: that's the best you can do till the time arrives for you to offer your services, as an eligible adult!

Arrrr!!

Welcome aboard. Well, next year. Ye can sign when ye be 17 with parental consent. When ye be 18 ye can do it on yer own. Ye have to have a GED or be a HS grad.

Don't be takin' the cabin boy MOS, unless ye find yer skipper to be a cute one.

no.

at 17, as long as you have a High School Diploma( NO GED) and your parent's written permission you can.

Otherwise, you must wait until 18.
