extreme in what? Beliefs?

I'd say christians - they believe in something ridiculous based on nothing but faith and are quite happy to accept that billions of people will be tortured for eternity

Well, it really depends how you mean "extreme".

In one sense, I believe that atheists are more extreme. They are (generally speaking, definitely not speaking to everyone because I've met a great number of kind atheists) more aggressive in their beliefs in my experience, especially what I've seen here. They seem to run away from anything even hinting at the existence of God, immediately shielding themselves with the ever-so-popular "God doesn't exist." They are trying to share their beliefs about religion, and why? Unlike Christians, it's not to share love, peace, life, or joy. In fact, I don't know why they feel so urgent to share a message of loneliness, despair, and apathy.

Christians, however, are also extreme, but for a different reason. We feel an urgent need share the love of God because we know that if we don't, it will cause death and indescribable pain. We want people to enjoy the benefits of Christianity because we truly care about and love people and want them to be saved. I admit, because Christians are by no means perfect, many of us are guilty of going about it in a way that can seem pushy or rude. However, we do have a good reason for our urgency.

Someone earlier said that atheists never kill people for believing in God, which I would like to argue. A great example of this is school shootings here in America. How many students have been shot because somebody puts a gun to their head and says, "Do you believe in God?"

And I know what you're thinking: What about the Holocaust? Millions of Jews (and gypsies and many other groups... I'm not an expert on this) were killed for their beliefs, and by whom? People who called themselves Christians.
If anyone could honestly tell me that they believe that Hitler was a devoted Christian, I'd be very surprised.

I would say Religious people in general not just Christians. All it takes is for one of these groups to justify their actions by invoking God's name whether it is God or Allah or Zeus and then all hell breaks loose. Right now it is the extremist Muslims maybe next year we will see extremist Christians who know.

Christians, obviously.

How many people have Christians killed for not having the same beliefs as them?

Now, how many people have atheists killed for believing in a god or gods?

The answer should be clear.

They are equally extreme, just different. Christians think that if you don't believe in their religion you're going to hell while atheists think you're stupid if you believe in God.

There are extreme douches on each side. Pat Robertson + his followers = Christopher Hitchens + his followers.

There's a plethora of zealots on both sides of the aisle. Leave 'em alone and if the rest of us get lucky, they'll just bug each other.

I would say the Christian because he has the most guns.

Christians aren't called zealots for no reason.
