The Book was written to warn Christian communities in Asia Minor (Turkey) 1,900 years ago that the Roman Empire was getting out of control.

The Christians eventually BECAME the Roman Empire when they murdered their way to the top of the heap in the fourth century.

Are they really warning us about themselves?

Funny that you should say that.

In fact, there are many in the Christian camp who believe that the depictions in Revelation, especially as they relate to the woman riding the beast, are depictions of a religious entity, and likely the Roman Church.

A clue is in Revelation 17:9, where it says, "This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits." Rome is situated on seven hills. These are: Palatine, Aventine, Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, and Caelian.

Agreed up until the 'murdered their way to the top of the heap' comment. Constantine had a lot to do with their rise to power. He wanted a united empire. He stuffed their coffers with money, appointed his own 'bishops' then ordered the council of nicea. Why do you say they murdered their way to the top?
I'd like to be educated on that :)

Not at all! Revelation is all about the Second Advent of Christ, and not about the Roman Empire!

You could be a source of education for all of us if all of us would allow ourselves to be educated.
