obviously low cost and dont want to drive a piece of crap. my 2003 is very questionable and won't cooperate

Look in the phone book under auto rentals. Some dealerships rent out cars too, and for longer periods, they are cheaper than the normal rental companies.

Suck it in big boy. If you can`t wait 3 months then you should have gotten somthing off the lot. If your 03 is bad can I have it /to replace my 87. It`s pretty questionable too. I think I might be getting some rust on the frame.

Buy at auction. When you get the car you want sell the temporary car at auction.

Why don't you rent a car! I remember I rented a car for three months, it hardly costed me anything.

Hire one. Or get a courtesy car whilst your other one is being fixed.
