Faith breeds ignorance, regrettably.

Evolution is a theory that isn't measured like all other scientific theories. A theory needs to have a test to disprove it (to put it in simple terms). Einstein's Theory of Relativity was tested during an eclipse and was proven true. All Darwin said was that if anyone can prove that evolution is false, then it is false. That's not scientific at all. Isn't it more foolish to follow a theory that even modern scientists refuse to put to the test like all other theories?
Having said that, I have to ask why Intelligent Design isn't being taught in schools. The DNA code sure looks like n Intelligence was behind it.

Most "religionists" are not trying to defeat the theory of evolution.
In addition, evolution does not make God redundant.
The Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.
One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good.
Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution. Or not. The Church does not require belief in evolution.
On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis:
The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.
Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html
The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.
As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.
With love in Christ.

religionists try hard, but fail to prove their own religious beliefs...
so, they need other theories to attack...
"religion is Spiritual fraud";
"religion is the Worse invention of humanity";
"Universal Truth has eliminated religion from Spirituality",
quotes of Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.
atheists = all the people in religion = all the ignorant fundamentalists = all the cults/superstitions = paganism = wicca = xians;
Here's the Solution for religion:
Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs.
<<<<<<< Love is the answer >>>>>>>
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

Religionists aren't trying to defeat it. Evolution is called a "theory" for a reason. One of the definitions of theory is, "an unproved assumption".

Because the idea that inanimate matter took on life and that by the process of time plus chance plus natural selection all of the millions of complex life forms on this planet came into existence is an insult to our Creator and leaves our lives without true purpose and meaning.

Darwinism has had a devastating impact on society. Its ramifications reach into the deepest aspects of social life and culture. In this chapter, we will provide you with a brief overview of some of the effects of evolutionary thinking on our modern world.
The data in this chapter is rather heavily abridged from the original three-volume set. But you will find it all in the chapter on Evolution and Society on our website.
A significant reason for this tremendous impact is the fact that evolution is nihilistic in regard to morals. First, the clear implication is that people are just animals, so there is no right or wrong. Second, it teaches that all evolutionary progress has been made by some at the expense of others. Highest success comes to those who will step on; grind down; and, if necessary, destroy others. This brings about "fitness" and "survival qualities."
Another devastating quality of evolutionary theory is the fact that it is but a variant form of atheism. Its advocates militantly attack religion in general and Christianity in particular. Christianity is declared to be superstition and the Bible a book of myths. Evolutionary teaching and Christianity are total opposites. They are entirely incompatible. No one can believe both teachings or try to combine parts of the two. For anyone to attempt to do so is but to fool oneself.

I think the real reason is that evolution is too complex. First,it requires reading. Next, it requires thinking. God is so much easier. Just believe, and it is true. No thinking required. No reading required. Ask any toddler which he or she would prefer.
