When he is ready! and takes an interest. Dont let society dictate an age it will stress him out and yourself and it is not worth it. Get him a potty and tell him it is his, let him sit on it even with clothes on. tell him when you are going to the toilet etc he will get to point where he wants to be clean and dry, good to start with pull ups he will feel older.........lots of praise.........good luck

when you're son shows an interest in the toilet, when your son can TELL you when he went to the bathroom.. Also, he should be able to stay dry for at least 2 hours. Training pants dont really help either, they dont help the child feel the difference between wet n dry.

My mom potty trained my brother when he learned how to take off his diaper..

My 13 month old son just learned how to take them off.. but hes definately not ready a all I think.. He cant control his bladder yet.

Anyways, just make sure your son shows an ineterst in the toilet, leave the door open so when you or any ofther family members go to the washroom, your son can watch and learn.

Good luck

It varies. I tried to start my son too early at first, around 27 months. He had no interest whatsoever in going. So, I decided to wait. I started again at 32 months, he's 34 months now, and has made a lot of progress. Every child is different, so don't expect him to be trained in a couple weeks. There will be some set backs, as well as progress. We got #1 down at home, then there was getting it down outside of the house as well. With boys they will not tell you they need to go if there are lots of distractions around at first, such as a play date, or out in public. We now have #1 down completely however, and are working on #2. It's a process, but he'll get it eventually.

we got our son a potty at about a year and a half and he loved the idea of playing with it, but not to use, and by about 27 months he started using it in the day and by about 30 months he was trained day and night.
if yours is showing any interest I would start trying if they aren't then don't push they will do it when they are ready

He will let you know by pulling on his diaper, taking it off and asking to go to the potty. Don't rush him this could cause a delay. Every child is different so to give an exact age would be difficult.

2 is usually the age but some children will not show readyness till 3 years old. Make sure you know what method you think will work best for him and stick with it.

With boys, usually close to 2, but if they show interest, try earlier!
