Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter to his nephew and advised him to study the Bible as he would any other classic, i.e. objectively and critically. He also said one might conclude that there is no god after such a study and he wouldn't disagree. You agree with Jefferson I see. That is good!

Im not sure I would use the word 'entertainment' but I do believe its good to learn about different religions & beliefs. We all have our own perception of this life & this world. I have as much respect for other belief systems as I do for my own. Live & let live.

There is a vast difference between the Bible and other books, if you read the Bible it can change your life as it has done countless times simply because it is not just pages and ink as other books are but the living word of God.

You can if you love bad literature, sure. Frankly I dig Grimm's fairy tales or 1001 Arabian Nights - same moral lessons but some real excitement.

Actually, you can! That's the beauty of separation of church and state. Fight hard to preserve it. Let your congressmen/congresswomen know that we want to keep religion out of politics!

Yep, holy books would be actually great jokes on universal scale if they had not been so violent and cruel.
