Yes. I have read most of the major works of other religions. (I am a Evangelical Christian).
When I was an Atheist (I capitalize it, because I held the atheistic view with all of the fervor as any religionist) and started to look into and research various religions, because I wanted to be sure I knew what I was rejecting.

In the course of investigation, I became a Christian. But that of course is a different story. lol

The only religion that I could never seem to "get a handle on", was Hinduism. Seemed to be just a bunch of contradictory beliefs, and "bumper sticker slogans". lol.

I figured anything that complicated cant be true. lol

So, to answer your question;
Yes, I have read the works of other Religions. I chose Biblical Christianity, because I believed it to be TRUE.

NOT because I had any bias FOR it. If anything I was biased against ALL religions, but especially Christianity.

I was the most surprised person in the world, when I found myself believing it.

Thanks for the Question. It is a good one.

It seems widely assumed that we don't compare religions or examine the claims of others- or read their material. But of course, with all assumptions-- there will be big errors.

I also have read the writings of differing religions. I'm not scared to do so. I learn a lot from them--- in terms of seeing the various ways error and lies bend the thinking of people without their notice. It's fascinating. I then talk to the same people about it, ask them questions that cause them to see that their thinking is bent... and again, it's interesting to see their reactions.

The reaction I HOPE FOR- is the one where they ask, "Ok, what must I do to be saved?"

Thanks for listening.

I've read several things about and from other religions. Of course, I'm nerd that majored in Religious Studies in college. I love comparative religion and putting religion in its socio-historical context. You begin to realize that most religions, and especially Christian denominations, are more a like than you think.

Despite all of my study, I am still a Catholic. Of course, some other Christians have their doubts over whether Catholics are really Christian or not. LOL

I've read the Koran. I had to write a sixteen page paper about the the Cave, Moses and The Verdant One, and Dulqharnein building a wall against Gog and Magog. That is an experience I'd rather not relive.

I have read some of the Quran. I didn't understand it much. Deuteronomy 13:1-3 specifically warns against signs and wonders. Wonder is derived from a word that means "bright or handsome." I found the Quran to appeal to what's visually spectacular or pleasurable in life, rather than to education from God on a daily basis as a person not necessarily supported by close friends or family.

Jews for Jesus is a Christian evangelistic enterprise that focuses in specific on the conversion of Jews to Christianity. Christian Wiccans adhere to the polytheistic nature faith huge-unfold as Wicca and profess thought indoors the instructions of Jesus. Christian Wicca is a definite denomination of the kit of ideals huge-unfold as Christo-paganism. undemanding factors transplanted from Wicca contain reincarnation and fertility; even besides the shown fact that, the top-rated factors of the divinity of Jehovah, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are retained from Christianity, in lots of situations with a renewed emphasis on the latter 2. as far by fact the Christian Muslims bypass.
