I had chicken pox as an adult as well.
You are contagious until you stop finding new pox & ALL your spots are crusted over and you are no longer running a fever. Oatmeal baths, baking soda baths and lots of fluids will help. If itching is really bad they may put you on atarax....but honestly unless you have some really weird looking spots indicating infection (which you can CAUSE by picking, scratching and popping them!! Stop it! and it will cause scaring.) or a really high fever (over 102) there's really no need to go to the doc as all measures are palliative. I wasn't terribly itchy either just uncomfy. Pat dry after bathing don't rub or scratch.
You need to quarantine yourself -- stay home, watch TV, eat comfort food, read books etc. Don't sit in the sun to much as that can irritate. Take Vit C, drink tea (echinacea if you have it will boost your immune systym).
Anyone can get shingles who has been exposed to Varicella weather you actually break out or not. My father has never had chicken pox but he has had shingles and my son had both by the age of 5. (yes ped. shingles do happen!) Simply walking by someone will expose them but they may or may not break out. You've probably already exposed your close family and friends as the incubation period is around two weeks.

I had chickenpox when I was 20.( 1) don't be around others for 3-5 days. you maybe infectious(.2) if you touch you rashes they might spread(.3) don't Itch or pick at your rashes you will scar. I have two deep ones on my for head. Use calamine lotion on the rashes using Cotton balls. It works wonders
it will take the itchiness out. If you feel that doesn't work wrap up you hands up after you use the calamine lotion. It will keep you for scratching the rest of you body.
I hope this helps.

Yes, you WILL scar if you pop the blisters. If the itching bothers you (which 'm sure it does), warm baths with a cup or so of baking soda added to the water will help to relieve that. You should avoid touching the blisters, absolutely, as popping them makes them take longer to heal and WILL make them scar. Avoid touching them, absolutely. It can transmit germs to other places on your body and give you MORE blotches than you already have.
Not feeling 'too itchy' does happen. If you have that, consider yourself lucky.
Walking past a person could hypothetically give him or her chicken pox if some of your breath or some kind of body fluid gets on him, like in the unlimkely event that you sneeze on him or something. If you take medication, you shouldn't be contagious after 72 hours or so.
DO NOT SCRATCH, POP, OR OTHERWISE TOUCH THE BLOTCHES.

You will have scars if you continue to scratch open the pox. Don't touch them, it only makes them itch more.
Use a topical skin product like calamine lotion or whatever your doctor recommends. Take oatmeal or baking soda baths in warm (NOT HOT) water.
To ease the itch and stop yourself from touching the pox, try using a hair dryer on your skin. Really, it works! Blow the pox with the heat of the dryer turned off (or very low) and it takes away the itch and urge to scratch.

Leave them alone, you'll scar. It is and airborne disease, so you should stay away from people who have not had the disease or been vaccinated. It will not cause you to have shingles; it is caused by the same virus as shingles, so you could be more prone to shingles later in life as you always carry the virus in your system once you are infected.

Scratching or opening sores will lead to more of them, and more exposure to others. I would go to the Dr.
At your age, I think, you can get shingles.
