What about a beef or chicken vege hearty soup? A favorite of mine is turkey/sauage gumbo. It's takes two days to make since you start with homemade stock from a smoked turkey...but's it's worth it. There are several gumbo recipes out there and the stock is the key ingredient. Here's my favorite: (I don't measure so these are estimates)
1cp oil and 1cp flour for a roux
1 cp ea of finely chopped celery and onion
1 cp chopped okra-cooked in a high heat skillet w/oil for a few minutes
4 cps chopped dark turkey meat or dark chicken meat
1 cp sliced kielbasa sausage
2 cns of rotel - pureed
2 tbl "file" spice
3 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp ea cayenne pepper, salt, pepper
tabasco
worcheshire sauce
1/2 gal really rich stock - chicken or turkey
Use a heavy stock pot or dutch oven (cast iron) and make a roux - equal parts oil and flour, cook/stir for 20 minutes until golden-med brown. Add finely diced veges and garlic &. cook 15 min or until really tender. Add stock slowly and only add enough for the thickness of the soup you want, add pureed rotel, meat, okra and all remaining spices inc worcheshire. Cook 1 hour on low heat. Add tabasco to taste. You can even add crab meat and shrimp. Serve over rice. One pot meals are great! good luck.

If you have a slow cooker, put in 3- 4 bonless skinless chicken breasts along with 4 cans of cream of chicken soup and let cook most of the day, make some rice on the side.

yeah curry for sure- i reckon masaman go to woolies get a can of massaman paste some cocunut milk, big chunk of beef, potatoes and onions you put it all together on the stove for 3hours low heat, lid on. Serve with rice. Or go for a goulash.

what about a curry its called lightning lamb dhansak or sometimes i use chicken. 5oog cubed lamb or chicken 1lb 2 ounces. 2 tablespoons gram masala. 2 to 3 tablespoons veg oil. 2 onions thinley sliced. 200g 7 oz diced pumpkin or squash. 100g 7 oz red lentils. 600ml 1 pint veg stock. i tablespoon curry paste. 25g 1oz castor sugar. salt and pepper. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint or coriander. juice of one lemon. 2 cloves garlic. Toss the lamb in the garam masala. heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large pan and quickly brown the lamb. ~Transfer to a plate and set aside. 2. add a little more oil to the pan then cook the onions, garlic,and pumpkin or aquash for 5 mins until softened and beginning to brown. 3.now add the lentils, stock, curry paste and sugar and return the lamb to the pan. bring to the boil cover and simmer for 25 to 30mins stirring occasionally until the mixture is thickened and the ingredients are lovely and tender. 4. check for seasoning then stir in the mint or coriander and lemon juice to taste .

This easy recipe can be adapted to your tastes by using all green peppers instead of celery. But celery, onions, and peppers are the holy trinity of Cajun flavors traditional to jambalaya. When I made it, I added red and yellow bell peppers.
INGREDIENTS:
* 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1" pieces
* 3 stalks celery, chopped
* 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1" pieces
* 1 onion, chopped
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 (14 oz.) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
* 1 Tbsp. sugar
* 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
* 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
* 1/2 cup uncooked orzo pasta
* 1 lb. frozen fully cooked shrimp, thawed
PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients except orzo and shrimp in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours until chicken is cooked through. Increase heat to HIGH. Stir in orzo, cover and cook for 15 minutes, or until orzo is tender. Add shrimp, stir, cover and cook an additional 3-5 minutes until shrimp is heated through. Serves 6-8

Southwestern Chicken Soup
Ingredients:
1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into thin strips
1 tablespoon canola oil or vegetable oil
2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
1 (16 ounce) package frozen corn, thawed
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium sweet red pepper, chopped
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
In a large skillet, saute the chicken in oil until lightly browned. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker with a slotted spoon. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours. Stir before serving.

Macaroni cheese and onion is my favourite dish. If, as you name suggests, you are from Australia then this will be quite an exotic foreign dish. However if you dont like pasta or chese or something go for Pizza. I love Italian food and I am from Scotland so you should do something like that. Another 'food' I love is Duck so there are two suggestions. Ps if you use my ideas will you give me the ten points. lolXXXXXXX
PPS, for something Scottish have haggis. Enjoy.

braised steak brown some beef of with mushrooms and oinions make a thick gravy and put in your oven for about an hour and a half on a low heat make sure the beef is tender serve with a lump of bread
