Since you never go without, I'd let him keep gambling. There are alot worse things he could be doing with his free time. It sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders. Plus if he would ever win the lotto, wouldn't that be GREAT!! And for him he can't win if he don't buy a ticket.

Absolutley, and I really upset him when I laughed too. He is worried for you and the baby. Even though its cute, I would humor him and eat some carrots lol. Last pregnancy I gained 75 pounds and I struggled with self esteem and trying to get the weight off. I didnt know you shouldnt pig out totally and i worked at a resturant everynight so I ate alot of fetticini alfredo and canolis. This pregnancy I have actually been craving fresh fruits and health things so keeping the weight at a more healthier level is easier for me, and I am more aware and educated about what I need to be eating. However my hubby looks at my 28 week belly and tells me I am to skinny. I remind him that the doctor says I am gaining at a good rate and I am right in the middle of where I am suppose to be, that helps calm him down and if it doesnt, I go grab a veggie and munch on it

Gambling is always a game of catch up. A person wins big then gambles more... Pretty soon he/she is trying to win back what he/she lost.

Here's some questions from a gamblers annonymous website I found at http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/20questions.html

"Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling?
Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?
Did gambling affect your reputation?
Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?
Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?
Did gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?
After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
After a win did you have a strong urge to return and win more?
Did you often gamble until your last dollar was gone?
Did you ever borrow to finance your gambling?
Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?
Were you reluctant to use "gambling money" for normal expenditures?
Did gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself or your family?
Did you ever gamble longer than you had planned?
Have you ever gambled to escape worry or trouble?
Have you ever committed, or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling?
Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?
Do arguments, disappointments or frustrations create within you an urge to gamble?
Did you ever have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours of gambling?
Have you ever considered self destruction or suicide as a result of your gambling?
Most compulsive gamblers will answer yes to at least seven of these questions."

I am part of the great US public and I think as long as he is taking care of his family than there is nothing wrong with a little gambling. Good Luck!

As long as the family isn't losing out, the amounts of money gambled are small, and you don't mind; what does it matter.

Don't forget when you win the biggie, that I have always spoken very highly of you, and have valued your friendship greatly over the years.

What about the "great american public."

has he ever lied to you before? If so, check it out, because your husband isn't likely to say, guess what, I was thinking about starting an education fund for the kids, but I'm starting to take some heavy losses. Keep your eye on this guy.

As long as all of your bills are paid on time and you and your family don't go without things you need then I don't see a problem with it......and as far as him winning well nobody on this site can tell you as it is pure luck.
