I believe that all dogs should have compulsory dog training. Great Danes are potentially dangerous because they are a large breed, but most of them are very docile and friendly creatures. They are "gentle giants."

Every owner should train their dogs at least in the basics. When you are talking about something as large as a Great Dane then it's even more important. I've owned one and they can accidentally hurt someone just because of their size. Most Great Dane's are good dogs, but if you get one that misbehaves, then it is a BIG problem.

All dogs should be trained, especially giant breeds. An untrained great dane could cause serious problems. When you have a 120+pound untrained dog who wants to do something his way and you want want it done your way I can guarantee you the dog will always win. The great thing about training most danes is that it's a quick and easy process due to their desire to please their owners.(although I've had a few rebels who take a little longer)

I think ALL dogs should have compulsory dog training, at least in basic obedience. Large breeds in particular need to be trained at an early age so once they grow up, their owner can handle them.

ALL breeds/mixes of dogs should have training...it would correct a lot of the dog problems that exist out there and there would be fewer dogs abandoned and surrendered to shelters as well.

Yes----all dogs should---but it is important for the large dogs that you can't pick up to learn to understand what humans are telling it. That way---they are less stressed & less dangerous.
The seller---had they any ethics---would have told you that training is mandatory.
