I go over and talk to them actually I have some pretty good neighbors and they can come to me too if they have a problem with something I have done or have not done . It really depends on what it is .

"There are many ways to skin a cat", and, normally, I have taken recourse to the agencies of law when I have had serious neighbour problems.

Sometimes, for minor problems, a more subtle approach can be used. I had a neighbour who used to sit in his back yard catching the sun - no problem there, but he always played music from a rather large ghetto-blaster, which meant that we had to keep our windows shut in hot weather to negate his din.

After some negotiation, that came to nothing, I hit on the idea of having a barbecue every time he sat in the sun with his music on. The barbecue took the form of a camping gas stove, a frying pan, some rue, and a block of asafoetida - about 2 ounces.

He soon stopped the music - have you ever smelled asafoetida fried in oil with rue!!!

With the neighbours giving us problems there's nothing that can be done. It started with their daughter bullying me when we were children and after many years of bullying and harassment from this family I don't think it will ever end. They are wholly in the wrong but blame me for the situation, just because I asked them to stop their daughter bullying me. They are what's known as *serial bullies* and the description fits them perfectly.
Some people can't be dealt with, if there's nothing else you can do moving is an option. For me, I'm here to stay and do my best to make their lives slightly hell for all the crap I've had from them for 2 decades. The ultimate act of revenge would be to slaughter the lot of them. Shouldn't say that should I?

I have had problems with neighbors who fight very loudly and have had the police over all the time because of their kids.

What I did was confront them directly and told them that it was an issue.
One night while I was out with my dog and the police showed up I told the officers right in front of my neighbors that they were a problem.

This might not be good for everyone but thats how I handle these types of things.

My favourite son in law, works on the night club doors in town, as works as a "Bouncer" - He is a BIG chap.

I invite him and all his friends around for a Bar B Q every now and again.

I know they are all great lads, but the neighbours dont!

Need more details. I have had 'problem' neighbours in the past and each problem was different. You can ignore them, report them to the council for noisy neighbours, get the police if they are violent, it all depends.

I'm wondering what kind of trouble? is it noise? you don't get along? they're criminals?...please write more info so we can help. I'm not sure what the problem is so it's hard to answer, but if you live in an apartment you can report them, you can ignore it, if it's criminal you can call the cops, you can move or hope they do (I mean if it's really really bad).

if your in the uk, get in touch with your local council and make a complaint they give you a booklet to fill in each time there is a problem and will write to them to let them know that if it carries on they could be taken to court. if it doesnt stop they go to court and get evicted, whether it is their own home or a council property.

With the wealth of information you just gave us, there is no possible way to answer this question without knowing any details.

SO my answer (without knowing anything) is...

I would ignore them.
